If you are an IT guru or thinking of cyber security, I suggest you up your knowledge and skills and get into it because they are very very very rarely even considered for layoffs. I've been with Dell for 6 years now and as many layoffs as there have been since I started, I don't actually know of a single person who's been laid off that's in Cyber/SRO.

On the surface this sounds reasonable, but security spending seems to be the first to be cut by a company when times get tough. No where is safe in corporate America.
Dell Sonicwall is the least likely to get hit. When you have 0.3% of market share there is nothing but upside. Just tell everyone you are selling AI Sonicwall.
I thought Secureworks laid off 15% last year. The market is flooded with redundant security offerings. CISOs get spammed by them all non-stop. I'm not sure security is the safe haven.
10+ years in infosec, landed at Dell after being laid off.
I have personally been laid off and know many others in the industry who have.
This round of layoffs at Dell took one of my teammates.
We are only ever safe because they already run us understaffed. Nobody is irreplaceable.
