Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

It's hard to watch the destruction of this once great company and the abuse of it's employees

Best wishes to all that got RIFd today. You deserved better.

Trust me Hans is doing exactly what he was hired for. His resume consists of ruining companies and he’s doing the job. Black rock controls him.

@glv+1mOoj5N8 Trust me on this. As someone that survived this RIF I will not be a high performer. After seeing the most unprofessional RIF by Verlison, I will do my part to make sure that the Customer Service from Verlison is on par with how they treat us until I find a job outside of VZ or get riffed after the 3rd quarter since we know Verlison will need another one after continuing to bleed customers.

NYNEX and Bell Atlantic and GTE were top American companies to work for, but Verizon has degraded into a third world type of place. No innovation, and lots of inexperienced management focused on fake feel good metrics instead of reliability and actual value.

There is no employee abuse like a poster said above a lot of people are upset they cannot get paid high salaries with lots of time off to slack off anymore. The people that will stay are the ones that are high performers, therefore getting rid of the slackers taking up the pay that everyone else should be getting.

@zet+1mOoj5N8 yes Verizon HR will get on here and dump a bunch of votes. If you come to the site in incognito mode you just have to refresh your browser and can vote again. It was really bad around the time the retail stores had a couple unions form in Seattle. You'd have most posts with 4 or 5 votes and then -30 on anything about a union.

plus 3 on the reply "There is no way employee abuse is happening"? plus 18 upvotes vs minus 15 downvotes? You have got to be kidding me. This has to be a concerted effort by Verizon.

  • 9 at this point for the thread? Sounds like Hans is getting everyone to downvote this thread or any other negative thread and post their own threads about how wonderful layoffs are. Sounds like damage control to me.

They didn’t RIF the right employees. The ones abusing RTO, working insane OT and not producing jack are still employed.

All you people are freaking out over these riffs because you desperately want to stay at this company where you were given ample pay and time off for slacking off. Yet you stayed on for every other riff, hits different now huh? Hate the company - looks like this is a dream for you. Stop whining.

Over the past 3 years. Leadership has gone to straight sh-t. On top of that the way the company treats us is terrible l. I use to love and be very proud to work for Verizon. These days not so much. The senior leadership roll over is just nuts. The BOD need to take a long look in the mirror and Hans needs to be let go. He received a massive bonus and a raise this year and employees didn’t even get a cost of living raise. I work in sales and I use to make absolutely great money. Now I tell myself I am still here because I am vested and to be honest the benefits are still great but I am at the point that the money isn’t right anymore. I went from being able to take my family on nice vacations to wondering what bills I can eliminate just to make sure we have enough money every month. It’s really sad. As an employee that once drank all the kook aid. I am now looking at that job offer from ATT as a viable options. Come on Verizon you can do better than this. Let’s not bring up all these foreign reps we have now that don’t have a clue on how to perform their job. As an employee that has to work with these folks everyday. They have made my job harder and a terrible customer experience. I am just going to end here with this. Hans was terrible at Motorola and he is terrible here at Verizon. I mean let’s be honest Motorola is better off now that Hans left and that’s not saying much.

Ahh, I see somehow Verizon still has a few Kool Aid drinkers. If you haven't seen VZ management abuse/misuse employees you're blind or the one carrying out the abuse.

The Credo? Please. Print it on toilet paper so we can all wipe. The Credo is a front. Fake news!

They don’t even know how they’re handling the rifs! They are not doing any process re engineering in my organization to figure out what is redundant tasks or what makes sense to centralize. They are just hand picking and selecting one or two unlucky folks to save some money. It’s really a d-mb way of doing it. They are completely clueless

The BOD, Hans, and the executive team should be embarrassed. What a travesty. Your actions caused people to loose their jobs. The Credo is a joke.
