What doesn't make sense to me is some ETW's are HEAVILY involved in critical work in CIS/technology and see the writing on the wall. No mention of conversions. So they put in their resignations and the managers are left holding the bags and trying to reverse engineer what projects they were working on. Other teams are effected by this because insider tribal knowledge has left. You can't help but chuckle.

The whole thing is a shitshow... The managers are complete mo--ns for not retaining current talent. ICC will not fix or solve these issues. But Heyyyyy it's all about saving a few bucks... Ha ha. Logic fail.... massive face palm..

@2law - Good luck to you.

Were you given any option for taking a package, or was it take it or leave it?

Had my call this morning. My role is being eliminated. They are pushing me to a new role, doing something completely different and not at all related to what I do now. More money, but money if not always the key decision point. I have been on my current career path for 10+ years and now Nike tells me, sry, you cannot do that here anymore, but look we have this completely different thing you can learn. IO have invested too many years into my current career path to change it now. I love what I do. Guess I will be riding the wave for a bit and looking elsewhere. Whosever idea this was....they did not think it through. J/S

Many roles are being moved to ICC. Staff who are in those roles are being moved to other teams and have new titles + responsibilities.

No impact to ETW's yet but many ETW's can see the writing on the wall and are considering leaving. I'm willing to bet that those resources will also be replaced by staff in ICC.

@2bas good info. Sorry to say it, but ETW's should be the first to go. Bad on Nike for sh!tty resource planning to adequately staff key roles with FTE's.

Resources are being re-deployed across the org with no real attention given to their career aspirations, experience or even skill sets. Keep in mind that this is under the leadership of someone who was hired from a failing retailer. This is someone who has no real industry credibility or even credibility with the org he left. Since he joined Nike, he has proceeded to bring in his people, and they're changing the leadership landscape here.

I received a pay adjustment, but I was grossly under paid before and wasn’t shy about it with my boss.

Yes some are getting promoted.

Some are being shown the door.

Some are leaving on their own, including execs - TS, VP of TechOps is already leaving after barely a year in the role and they recently let the other VP go in his org. Would love to know his thoughts on Nike right now!

Etw’s should know they are hard enforcing 2080 - so don’t expect an extension. Manager hands are being tied, and role conversions only for those talented in critical roles that there is fear of losing given the recent attrition and Holiday on the horizon. Likely to see many role conversions posted with talent already in mind in the next few weeks.

2080 clocks were reset last 10/01 for those who don’t know. So a flood of contracts are about to expire just before holiday. To say the next few months are going to be rocky is an understatement.

Plus, don’t forget the rebound layoffs that will likely happen in early 2022 across GT just like they did with the rest of the company when they went through CDA last year.

Even with more money I’m going to shop around. This place is on fire and it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

@1vvs+1cIxSrWz alot of agencies sc--w etws hard with the billing % and nike works hard to keep their relationship with them good.

it doesnt matter who your legal "employer" is both companies collaborate to sc--w other the workforce and keep costs low

That said, i have seen a lot of managers in gt scramble to convert their favorites to fte last few months... sounds like contracts might expire

Sounds like layoffs in GT are starting today -
Details please…

@1dub most bill rates I have seen are very close to the cost of a fully funded FTE.

My guess is you are just another disgruntled ETW that thinks they work harder than FTEs. Sounds like your issue is with your contract agency not Nike.

@zlm

Someone has to do all the work and it's a lot easier to make an ETW to FTE work while not having to spend money on benefits.

Looks like no ETW getting laid off as part of the actual reorg...who knows maybe contracts won't get renewed later.

For our ETWs/contingent workforce, you may be wondering how these changes affect your current contract. We want to let you know that we do not anticipate any immediate impact. Your manager will notify you if you are moving to a new team or will experience other changes to your current role.
