CSR moving to Houston ?

Is EMRE is moving to Houston and we can sell the space in Jersey for good money. RTD and EMRE to be combined into one large EMRE organization ..

Even after decades of CSR and RTD,nwe have lost to competition bigly. The slide started years before the pandemic. Where is all the strategic technology and what did we get for it? Yes, we need research for the future, but also need accountability. Our track record doesn't leave us much hope.

CSR is Corporate Strategic Research.
Looking to the future of our products in the evolving petrochemical world.

Strategy is now out of the picture.
So far behind, it's time to just heave the ball down the field.
Knock out the refs and pole-holders.
Cameraman too.

Strategy now in the hands of accountants and notaries.

What's this CSR that everyone keeps talking about? I've worked for EM for twenty years and this group has never come up.

@zlt+17xfW7jd I agree, the catalyst development is actually pretty good given the lack of resources they seem to get but they deliver some good promising improvements to our catalyst. I will say the rest is a waste.

In this environment, CSR is not moving to Houston. The cost of relocations is too high. How the EMRE cuts will be distributed between Spring personnel who have a closer connection to the business and the R&D functions is unclear. Much of the CSR downstream programs should be stopped or reduced since they do not seem to deliver much to the business. Some of the “moonshot” stuff will continue for public relations and the off chance something practical is developed.

@OP - severely downsizing CSR and Product Development would make a lot of sense. Apart from catalyst technology, CSR hasn’t delivered the goods for 30 years or more. Product Development already has a bunch of formulations (fuels and lubes) ready for deployment, but on hold until demand recovers - which may take years. By then, who knows what the landscape will look like for engine oils and gasoline/diesel.

We always suspected that R&D overall would end up in Houston. Typical that the EM planners would have evicted the 3rd party tenants at Clinton (to make room for the Paulsboro people), when really they should have just sold the place.

lol who wants talentless folks from CSR? EMRE refuses this proposal right away!

Get rid of them and move all the furniture to Spring please.
