Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

I am so tired of incompetence being rewarded

People are being promoted because their friends made sure it happened. Not just that, people who are being hired have no idea what they're doing, and yet they stay employed. There's no reason for someone to stay in a position they're not qualified for just because they looked good on paper when they got hired.
It's time we stop this cr-p and start rewarding qualified and hardworking people with real opportunities.

I'm tired of my incompetence being rewarded. It raises their expectations. I wish they would just leave me alone and let me do my job. I don't want a raise or a promotion.
But I'll gladly take a couple of furlough weeks or a RIF package.

Haha, I have every clue! Come on, the bar is so low at Honeywell it is not hard!!
Yeh on many, many occasions I had to step in because colleagues in other disciplines were incompetent. Not arrogance, just amusing fact. It is what makes Honeywell so special lolol.

@2nzk+1lvxzoaQ. Doing other people's jobs? Good luck. Anyone who says something like that is arrogant and has no clue. Never assume you understand other peoples priorities.

In defiance of Honeywell I was proactive on my projects and challenged the laziness, incompetence and mo--nic decisions made every week. I even started doing other peoples jobs for them as they either unable to or could not be bothered (I am talking to you sourcing & engineering). This was a sure fire way to get Riffed :)

@ztp+1lvxzoaQ - Congratulations. You failed up. What you say is true. Incompetence is promoted, usually to another SBU.

Sorry @OP go make your own company.. you aren’t suited for a conglomerate like Honeywell.
The rules are simple:

  1. your job is to get your boss promoted. Period and end of story. Their competence has nothing to do with it. They picked you which is all that matters. This is how id--ts float to the top.. they learned that as a leader their work doesn’t matter.. only the work of the people under them moves the wheel.
  2. the quickest way to punish a troublesome manager is to get them promoted out of your way. Preferably to somewhere is Asia or maybe Darwin Australia to support the military work there. (No disrespect intended.. just get them far away from you). This is easily done by dropping their name to the VPs.

That is it. Up and out. Clear a path. Meanwhile those minions you got promoted now owe you one… I do nothing most days and still got MIP well over 100% and block 1 for last two years.. simple rules.

If management promotes someone to a position that they are not able to perform, to demote them of fire them is a failure on the part of management. Management, like politicians, are loathe to ever admit failures. JW, former SPS president, is a prime example.
