Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Is the company planning another layoff?

Heard each Executive Process Owner has hefty targets for moving work to MSPs from HC12 (High Cost 12) countries while several organizations have had people on staffing and development councils for months with no where to move them to.

I can outperform anybody in India, or anybody in Spring, for that matter. Just not at the local no-tell motel.

Jury is still out on the part about getting laid off .

But I do anticipate getting a very large package (9" minimum please) by getting laid-on.

Research, engineering, and business support jobs are offshore to low cost countries. This has been happening for years. The company will maintain blue collar workers and a skeletal crew of technical people to run the sites. Most work requiring skills will be contracted out. Lower level managements will be expat from low cost countries. This leave the rest to fight for top manager-positions. XOM is but a shell of a company and not the place to be if you are looking for a long term career.

OP you can bet your a$$ Darren is planning another major layoff. Denbury and Pioneer guys listen and let me be very clear most of the people laid off will be you. Get those resumes ready and start looking. MOST OF YOU WILL BE LAID OFF UNDER DARREN'S EXCUSE OF LACK OF PERFORMANCE.

@lnc For the umpteenth time….

Showing up at a physical office will not prevent your job from being outsourced.

Outsourcing began in the 1990s, long beige WFH was common.

I think people in America should keep insisting on working from home. Maybe throw in the phrase “work/life” balance and see where it lands you. If you are really all in you should blame a Boomer for not being able to buy a house.

The outcome is predictable.

@zvc+1paFzxLp You mean there aren't enough of the kind kind of people they want available. Don't worry, there is a plan to find headcount. It just won't be in the USA.

Technically it’s not a layoff if the overall headcount doesn’t go down. So if they can figure out how to effectively PIP off enough people in HC10 and replace at the tec centers, our capitalist executive overlords can tell the media there’s been no layoff with a clean conscious and a phat wallet.
