Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Wall Street Journal Article with opportunity to comment

This deserves its own thread. Many of us are aware of the recent memo put out by the CEO. Telling employees they cannot work from home unless they are older 65+ or health issues. Those with health issues needed a doctors note and to reveal personal health information. Which is illegal.

The WSJ has an article specifically speaking about UHG and this. A comments section is open. You must create a sign in with a valid email. However, you can use a code name to post a comment. We all have been waiting for an opportunity to fill in the press on what’s happening. Go comment!

You are correct, it’s Washington Post, still an article in a newspaper with over 80 million readers and a comments section! All of us here commenting, should go there and comment, we’ve been talking about how to bring things to the press, here’s our chance, yet very few have actually done this. Thank you for the correction, I cannot change my original post.

I contracted MRSA in December 2019 and got really sick. I was told I had to go into office in January, I still had MRSA. I told my boss and she contacted HR. They said I still had to go into the office. So, if you think that they care, think again. MRSA is very contagious.

@zzx+143xJl2u you may not feel that way but there are people in certain departments whose leadership pushed back to the point that employees had to beg and divulge personal information just to consider this week. My leadership doesn't like WAH and wanted to avoid it when employees started ask, but yet they WAH/remotely very frequently. This is an issue. It shouldn't matter... if Cigna and Humana and BCBS are encouraging all who can to WAH so should UHG. The non essential personnel who don't have any interaction with clients and just read reports, update documents and send emails... what is the point of them being in the office?
