Eddie said early on last year that he eventually wanted to operate with 250 to 275 stores total.
I'm sure they'll be more closings this year though.
Those numbers are for stores that have already closed. There were 40 announced in Nov of 2018 and 80 more in late Dec of 2018.
80+40=120
72+48=120
The closings were announced in 2018, but because the stores were not liquidated and actually closed until spring 2019, the media is counting them as 2019 closures. That article is outdated on numbers and is not an indication of future closings, which have been done one or two at a time and not in large groups like it describes.
