If your full time working in a store that has just announced its closing, how much severance do they pay?

Isn't it 1 week for every year up to 20 weeks for full timers? If it's one month max there's going to be alot of p-ss-d off people that waited this liquidation out thinking they'd get 10-20 weeks

When my store closed January 2019. All the full timers got 1 month paid of severance pay. The last 2 remaining managers we had got 2 months and 2 weeks. After that no more severance pay.

No matter if you were in the company for 10 years you either got 1 month full timers or a manager 2 months and 2 weeks.

Depends on the requisite account for the go-forward class per compulsory docket status classified by priority level.

@hza 1A claims are prioritized. Administrative costs are paid first then wages and then if there is any money left they might pay some severance. Severance is not mandatory regardless what anyone says. It is very likely that "Old" Sears Holdings will be administratively insolvent. If you are pre-petition bankruptcy you are dealing with "Old" Sears and not "New" Sears. Hope you get something but don't hold your breath.

Whew! Thanks. My "CONTRACT" for severance was pre-petition bankruptcy and cut before I saw any of it, 10 months ago. I have kept my claim active with PrimeClerk with a 1A priority wage claim. Does anyone know when the wind down will occur?

Anyone know what will happen once "THE PLAN" GOES for vote? Up, Down, Sideways?

THX!

Eddie won't pay Jack. Unemployment benefits is all you get. Despite all of the broken promises, past Severances have still not been paid. Hope that you have some savings. Good luck.

@yye up to 8 weeks max. Good luck collecting. Eddie didn't pay the full severance to employees the last time around. Eddie can be stop severance at any time with no warning. You would be smarter to look for another job and get out as soon as possible. Keep in mind also that there is no law that says a company has to pay severance unless you have a written contract agreement with the employer. If you are getting benefits you will be subject to COBRA and that is really expensive.
