Ah yes, the fallout from the financial mismanagement and book-cooking of the Conaway and Schwartz era at KMart.

Valley Stream NY. I was working at a NJ store in Summer 2001 and they sent a group of us to go fix that store up. Seems it closed shortly after in 2002 LOL! Man, this place used to have a lot of stores! LOL!

@kqp Wow, it brings back memories to me too! I worked for the company til End 2001. There were SOOOOO many stores that I forgot about that are long since closed. They're in the 9th inning with 2 outs now but they had a nice run! You;re in SC? Looks like theyre no stores that will be left there. NC has a few fr now though...

That list brings up good and bad memories. I worked at Kmart 4738 in Charleston, SC as my first job in 2000. Left Kmart that summer of 2000

Went back to Kmart Post Bankruptcy/SHC Store 7239. From January 2013-January 2014. Helped with the store closing.

Both experiences were not great but it was a job.

Wow. 17 years ago, Many posters on this board were made aware of financial problems with Sears and they chose to either apply for a position or continue with employment.
