Rumors flying either PSE Manager eliminated in early November, PSE Manager and PSE Installer Manager to be combined with seniority determining who gets (Of the two managers) the position or total elimination of PSE program.
This is to take place first or second week of November. Anyone know anything? No more beating us up for stupid leads!?

Talked to installer I used to use when I was the PSE. He used to do most categories for me. He said Dssm and Dsm were consolidated and only 2 of five employees in prior positions remain. The meeting where he learned that was about door installations. One installer of a group in the area is now a “hub” for the others. They send all the information on a project to him, then he does all the scheduling and service after the install. The one they picked is disliked intensely by the others in the group.
This is the EXACT Home Depot model of failure.
Sounds like they are resurrecting the old DOS(district operations specialist) position under another name then if what’s below is true. As much as the company constantly follows this practice in eliminating and then bringing them back under a different title, I don’t see how any payroll dollars are being saved.
One of the new positions they are creating out of this is District Operations Manager. They were posted today in most districts. I believe this will be more administration related and not sales.

I noticed this positing just before the announcement as well and you’re right, the job description makes the position read as more administrative-based. There’s reference to training and being responsible for areas of the store including the Front-End, Back-End and Pro.
Also saw another new position posted last night in southern regions. District Manager in home sales

With the elimination of both DSSM and the DSM, both will likely go. The new position will pay far less than what the majority of these people are currently being paid. This new position will look a lot like Home Depot's Sales Manager role –it pays about $50 k per year + a small % commission based on their team's sales.
If the 2 are merging won't someone have to go?
Checked with some friends over in TX. No DSSMs in Houston were fired. All confirmed merging of DSSM and FSM
Or....they will have the Sales Specialists sell the installation directly out of the store.....just like Flooring and the other categories. Rolling everything back to the way things were before the PSE program started.
This looks like it will be one step closer to ending the PSE program. With the big push for IMS and getting the installers comfortable uploading details and such, they will be soon visiting the home to do a detail and providing the customer with a quote (using a standard worksheet for services offered and pricing) while the IST follows up on quotes and schedules the service.
This way, Lowe's will hold the installers responsible for mis-measures, product shortages, etc. while limiting Lowe's liability in the process.
This is actually one move that I agree with—I’ve long said that most of these cushy area/district jobs are nothing but wasted payroll dollars. Other than market director, I haven’t seen one yet that I agree with. Put these people in the damn stores where they actually have to do something besides fire off and forward emails between themselves and the store managers/market directors all day long.
Just announced that Dssm and DSM will be eliminated in early November. One position will be open with the responsibility of managing installed sales and service in the district.

So the firing of the DSSM in Houston was an isolated incident if nationwide it was everyone above them that was fired yesterday.
Think of the payroll at the market level- DSSM (former MSM), DSM (former FSM) and DM (former MD)-former recently retired Market Director friend of mine was making BIG $.
What do you think each of those positions pay? Take a guess.........
Can foresee major reconstruction to Pse program...I’m a since beginning Pse and successful. We make to much for Bill Ackman and DE Shaw to sleep good at night...they count pennies lost so were a problem. Marvin will do as his puppet masters dictate.
It is nationwide and happened to everyone in the chain above the dsm and dssm. I forsee pse going away in the next 3-9months once ime and ims are fully ready for the store staff to do the job.

Houston aside, was anyone else’s DSM and/or DSSM let go today or was this an isolated incident?
District Service Manager (Formerly FSM) and District Sales and Services Manager (Formerly MSM)
I’ve been away for almost two years—What are the DSM and DSSM?
who acres. lowes corp fkked up psi, and pse. they put whip cream on dog chit then expect pse's to sell.
What is a DSSM?
Position change happens today. My DSSM was just informed and let go today. Just happened in Houston
Both DSM and DSSM being eliminated, new role is expanded PSE, Specialty as well as providers. PSE will be next and be run like flooring specialists sell detail, send info to provider and work through IMS.
PSE will be next to go in that business segment
PSE is fine. It’s just a management change.
So who's right? PSE " officially gone" or " nothing happening".
Install manager and DSSM are combining roles to make a new position. This is happening in early November. Upper management is deciding who stays and who goes so no interview. Nothing is happening to PSE as of now it’s just a shake up in management.
I have to admit that the position as we know it is officially gone and I have seen some of the paperwork going along with this. It is going to be a lot like Depot and Sears. Purely commission based and lead generator in store. The DSSM role is gone. May start in November but they will finish year with PSE and give them options to leave.
