Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Question, if contracts from 150 years ago are no longer valid, does that mean we can get back all the free land and money UP got from gov?

Better get the lawyers ready. hope they don’t call any UP employees as character witnesses for UP.

The contract doesn’t say you can’t strike. You can as long as it’s within the law. However, the President of the country, not the company, will order you back to work.

@12BW4q1C-clq “up is right for once”. Please dude if ur not UP management then no one is. Quit trying to act cool like “they finally got it right for once boys an I right?”

Give back all that free government land and money from back in the day. why should America subsidize Union Pacific anymore? Let UP survive in the free market like everyone else and break up the monopoly. Let the execs with the Mickey Mouse degrees work for their money.

With this logic why can't/won't the "UNIONS" file a lawsuit on the agreement that doesn't allow us to strike? I'm sick of them taking our money and getting ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for it. Not even a call back when we attempt to talk to our union reps. All they ever do is stand by and do nothing as we are bludgeoned by layoffs.

So an entire corporation should suspend critical operating decisions and modernization to accommodate some archaic agreement made under conditions that haven't applied for over a century? Why? So that fifty or so hillbillies can sit around and complain about their managers while lapping up six-figure salaries?

This is the problem with the railroad (especially UP). The people who work there still think it's the 1800s. It isn't. UP (for once) is right to try put an end to this.

If you got enough money to buy a judge or two I bet you can!
