Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

2015 Performance CIP Bonus Award... continued

On Wednesday Feb 3, the corporation will announce the corporate rating for the CIP Bonus for 2015 performance. A rumor circulating on Monday morning in San Ramon has it the Corporate CIP Rating will be fairly generous. The factor will be along the lines of what it was last year. It is being done to raise morale and to blunt the news of the CIP bonus program being eliminated going forward in 2016. There will be a substitute for the CIP, but details are still being worked out.

Thanks, Hjao, for following up. So you are confirming that a person who was laid off with less than 75 points and who was qualified and received their severance, should have also received their prorated CIP bonus? A previous poster on this thread claims they did not get their CIP yet and states he was told by the HR Service Center he needed at least 75 points to get it. Seems like a contradiction in understanding. I would urge the poster to create a new Gmail or Yahoo email address and post it here so that @Hjao (if he would be so kind again) to screen capture the CIP website page that states the 75 pt waiver, and submit to the poster what you found. It sounds like a grave misunderstanding in Chevron's part is happening here. The HRSC is slow to remiss in handling urgent matters. And word to @Hjao, please also send your email through a newly created email address so you are not identified. Thanks for your help.

Confirmed: there is a 75 point rule which is waived if you are eligible for and receive the severance. This is on the cip website.

@Gtjr, your comment is very interesting. I retired in May 2015 and received my prorated CIP. I had over 75 points when I left. Your comment about requiring a minimum of 75 points is alarming. I never heard of that stipulation when I received my layoff notification. I think an active employee still at Chevron may be kind enough to find out and post the truth here. Hopefully someone can find out from HR and let us all know. Thanks for bringing this up. Interesting.

Has anyone else heard of a 75 point requirement in order to receive CIP? I "retired" as of July 1st 2015. Did not get any bonus money, which I thought we would be pro-rated. I called local HR, and they said I needed 75 points, to call the 1 888 HR to verify points...I was 3 months short of having 75 points. Anyone else come across this?

Compare to BP...they didn't receive a bonus last year. Not sure about this year but it wouldn't have been unusual for the corp factor to be something around 0.5 given our piss poor financial results.

Thanks for repeating that again, Mr. Watson. You sound like a stuck record already. The only generous bonus will see is YOU getting your bonus!!

Given that we had our first quarterly loss in a long time, a 0.8 was generous.

Very generous?.. who are you? John Watson? We got 1.05 last year. Each of the last 3 years have been less and less ever since the year we were given a 1.80 factor. And and top of the 0.80 rating this year, Watson says salaries will for the most part not increase.

@1red, yes you will get a prorated share of the 2015 Performance CIP. As long as you work a minimum of 3 months in 2015, you will get a prorated share; 1/12th share for each month. The corp factor is announced tomorrow. The business units announce soon after, either tomorrow afternoon or in the next day or two.

Interesting. This will flush out all of the high performing younger folks in IT who already are being paid under market, well, most of them.

Why don't you share it here if you know since every post is anonymous.

Or maybe that "what do we know?" lady will make a post later today asking about it.
