Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Secret ESP for PG 29 and above.

This is real, just not public. The ESP is said to be 28 PG and below. There is a parallel ROM for PG 29 and above which looks to be as brutal. You will see some managers resign rather than get fired. Watch how it unfolds. And Chevrons leadership obsesses over this board. They just shat there pants reading this. Do you think any other company than Chevron monitors a public layoff board???

His name is Greg Pritchett and he did get his job for being gay. Because she is gay. So she hired the very nice but mentally unstable, totally incompetence gay guy?????

If that queer Safety Manager just looks or stares at me the wrong way, says anything I think is sexually suggestive, demands anything that is dubiously in motive, I will file the strongest harassment complaint against him. I won't tolerate the least of reasons to see his ass thrown out. Chevrons promotion of people like this only fuels animosities.

I know of 2 promotions. Old pencil neck Jesse Morris and the gay safety lead. Greg P. I forget his last name. Pritcher??? The gay safety guy is horrendous. He was promoted to SJVBU safety manager. I shit my pants when I heard he was a manager at a BU.

Two toppings???? One topping and a pop. Pop? WTF is pop lol. Soda! I am living under a rock I did not know we offered pizza coupons. A young man died and it was complete incompetence. On this board someone pointed to the official report, by googling boi lanco. No one got reprimanded for this fatality???? I don't know the fallout from it, especially with the report being so damming, I would think something. But again at Chevron, fvck up to move up. Probably a ton of promotions!

How much could we save if we completely gutted PGPA? What a worthless group they are.

I'm sure you are right, 3lks. His next plan is to hand out Subway coupons instead of Papa Johns pizza coupons for the next mishap.

Of course, the gay PGPA "professional" who came up with the pizza coupons to make peace with the PA community after the deadly gas explosion is still safe and sound at Chevron.

Yes this is for real. I can confirm. The PG 29 and above not only is part of cost cutting but also a semblance of accountability. I am sure Chevron will screw this up as well. They will keep the jack ass's. Melody was a good manager and leader. She is the first to be outed publicly. Also senior leadership is about to get a ton of pressure from Gorgon. Melody was the, "We held blah accountable." The PG 28 and below is all cost cutting by salary reduction. I have posted this before...they are using a weighted matrix to guide in decision making on employees sliced. Compensation is part of it, not age but compensation. This was mentioned, oh, a dozen times to avoid age discrimination. But if it comes down to equal footing, cost will determine employees fate. We have done no mentoring for our young employees, and quite frankly I can't see any of the people I work with actively engaging a young person in the field and then applying that learning back to their job. Chevron has never focused on results which is hydrocarbons in the pipeline. So they mentored the kids on some off the wall process.

They should have started with psg 29+, they may have been able to put the company back in the black and pay their dividend from the savings for that group alone.

This is happening this week. The OP is correct. I would start a new thread to post the heads. I would expect it to go down in April like the PG 28 and below. I am surprised this has not leaked out sooner. It has now though lol. They also will be either retiring or moving on to a new opportunity. The severence packages for most is what we made in a decade.

All names of ousted managers should be posted here on this thread, along with their BU and job title.

That whole Marcellus BS. How did that shit even start? Bang new BU. Chevron vs Peers and Chevron is dead last. Fire those PSG's who made that decision. Now it just sits there with zero activities and 700 people twiddling their thumbs. Come on now????

Hva - deeper and cheaper and barrels out. Exactly. Cost and safe production. No one knows this at any BU, hence why we can't make a difference and are getting fired. Not our fault, leadership can't provide that data. They are clueless.

1epd - you got it. What is separating Chevron fromarcellus the masses in a bad way and will make this massive layoff just the beginning of many more is....Gorgon, Wheatstone, Bigfoot, AMBU and Angola LNG. This truly is panick time for CVX..............120 BILLION spent over 3 years with a Mind numbing, ball crushing, ROI.

@1fxp and @1fxp I can use my Influencer skills on my leaders but only to the extent of my sphere of influence. When it comes to the executive level, they couldn't care less about what the boots on the ground have to say.

As for my responsibility: I executed my wells at 100.2% of AFE, and they came on at 2x the expected IP. I sleep at night knowing none of the blame falls on my shoulders.

-ksf, that is complete bs. I, and many like me have hit or exceeded every objective laid out by our supervisors and managers, year after year. Dont blame us for Gorgon, Wheatstone, Bigfoot, Angola LNG, etc. what an ignorant comment to make. Pinhead.

The challenge with posts on this website is that only a few people are talking for a whole organization. The same comments and attitudes keep showing up over and over again. The anger and hatred is so strong that part of the picture is being displayed and there is a lot that is left out. This is place or people to vent. I think if these people were really able to address issues, they would not be posting their thoughts and opinion here. Despite the claims of being victimized, each and every person who posts is accountable for some of the events and results.

watching the ruthless ones stay behind who keep on blaming their failures on others is hard. Those know how to work decision makers in their favor.

this site is a fascinating look into the inner workings of a major oil corp. for us outsiders........

ESP - employment selection process?

ROM - resource optimization method?

thanks, good luck all.

I do have to laugh. I hear a rumor from a good source like this one. I get on here and it's posted. All the layoffs were here before they were talked about.

From the beginning I've been saying this layoff should be from the top down. We minions hit all of the targets that were set for us. Leadership set the stupid targets that got us into this mess. I really hope it's true that there will be a shakeup in management. Hopefully the new regime realizes there needs to be just two metrics: get deeper cheaper and put more barrels in the pipeline. If any KPI/EFA/EFI doesn't align with that, we need to challenge it to death.

I'm sure what you say is true, OP. Kings and Queens cannot rule forever, especially when we are losing ground and shrinking in size. The political chips are being played.
