I heart that it's N + 2 in which 2 represents TWO years. Is that true ?

No it is 30 years salary for 2 years of work but still below Murthy's package
It's 3 years salary for 5 years work at intel
Aye if Intel could avoid doing acquisitions in France , sophia aix montpellier nantes, 4 sites, that would save some jobs here. What a f---ing company
For the Guy talking a bout vomiting .. oui forgot that intel aquired several companies based also in France (ie infineon, freescale ... etc) where employees came with their long length of service ;) ya himar ;)
I heard the VSP package in China was also on the order of almost 2 yrs for experienced employees.
Intel got a lot of money from the French state. I hope they will have to get part of that money back.
To the OP or the few dumb believer only the OP : Please stop to post non sense or tumors if you don't know; Even better : just think whether what you wrote can make sense or smells the hoax.
25 months of pay would be for employees with more than 15years of service in France.
And not so many have so long service as Intel came fairly late there...
So get back to work or vomit else where your French bashing
so the french guys all get at least 25 months salary, good for them
@rwq is correct, but missed that this is why companies stay in the U.S. markets more than Europe. Yes, once you have a job there you're set, but it's far easier to get a job in the states. Which is helpful for more than just landing a post-college job, it enables U.S. citizens to be more mobile and helps land a second job if you are impacted by layoffs (which is part of the reason why you need 2 years severance in Europe).
Also, it's not the "wild west" here, people aren't "lucky" to get any compensation at all. That's false.
Nice package. I only got 1 year (ERP). Wish it had been 2!
It was the same in Ireland. Unlike in the US, it is very hard to lay off workers in Europe. In the US, Oregon in particular, we are an "at will" state which means you can be let go at any time for no reason and with no compensation. Which is why US workers who got ISP/VSP/ERP are lucky that any compensation was attached at all. It's the difference in local labor laws.
Yes it's extremely expensive to make redundancies in France. The staff will be very well compensated.
