Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

What happened to the manager feedback tool?

We used to get email with a link to the manager feedback tool where Intel was enabling us to provide anonymous feedback for our manager. I haven't been getting such email for a looong time. Anyone knows if that tool has been closed?

Managers are not supposed to individually remind their people to submit MFT, but my manager continued to hound me. I just pretended that I will but never do. F him and Intel HR/upper management.

Don't waste your time. It isn't used for anything good, such as getting rid of terrible managers. Just delete it and move on.

Nothing good comes out of completing the manager feedback tool.

If your manager is in the "inner circle" with his bosses, then negative feedback will be ignored by his management and you can expect retaliation for providing it.

If the manager is not favored by his bosses then they will already be finding reasons to fire or marginalize him. Positive feedback won't save him and you'll be identified as someone who supports someone they don't favor.

The quality of your management is irrelevant. You own your own career and employ-ability.

Unless, of course, you have a bad manager. And you can be given an arbitrary SL4 and ISP'd for being "new"...

Best to complete MFT with negative input and do what you can to stay anonymous. Upper management will believe not submitting MFT is due to folks just being too busy.

My SLM constantly reminded us to complete MFT and only one of 8 of us did since out FLM is an Ahole. We all knew the one guy who did submit since stupid MFT required filling out comment section. Bunch of Intel idiots who set up stupid management feedback tool.

I got an IR to give bad feedback to my a--hole FLM in MFT. I don't have any regrets, he was an a--hole and he will always be an a--hole. MFT is sh--, it's there for BS HR folks to show they are doing some work where as the only work they do is lick these SLM and FLM dicks.

MFT = manager feedback tool. Not manufacturing.

And, @uei is a wise man

All of this (MFT) and similar tools are crap and POS (piece of sh.it). They serve to the purpose for them to find out what minions (by first name and last name) really think about them. It is (so-called) anonymous. Tell me about that?

FLM and SLM Managers in INTEL have all the power over minions . They say/advise: Work honestly and take everything (out of your plate) for 2 or 3 years. Once you are irreplaceable, then you watch and learn: they will come to you with all sorts of lies and fabricated evidences, to NOT allow you to switch groups and to go away, but the most important: not to let you to get rewards for your hard work (or to get as less as possible). On each focal they'll assure you to continue with hard work, and lot of monies and RSUs will come your way... This repeats every focal...

You know the rest (how to ACT), don't you? ;-)

@hph Thanks for sharing your experience and view. What does MFT and ODI mean in your post? Thanks.

@zch is correct. BK doesn't believe in ratings (wait until he reveals the new Focal, where nobody can feel bad because we're all the same). So we went away from actually rating managers and now we just write short essays instead.

This gets rid of the messy paper trail for bad managers that were getting 0% positive feedback. I had one like that, the MFT did absolutely nothing to help. Not joking, it was sad to see reality at Intel that clearly. But with the essay format it's now much harder for IC's to make a case against a bad manager since they're so open to interpretation. ODI's are stacked that much more against employees which gives your manager that much more power over you. Good luck challenging your focal review.

As was said before, this format makes tracing feedback to a specific person dead simple. Combine this with the above paragraph and basically it means you'd better play happy or risk being fired. So do what I do, delete all emails that come in about it. The survey hasn't helped one bit in the past with nightmarish managers and can affect you negatively if your manager doesn't like your feedback. So I see no reason to fill it out. I doubt HR will get the message when that happens, but it's the best choice for me given how they defined this game.

They changed the tool in the last year or so. Instead of the standard questions with a 1-5 ranking, they asked 3 open ended questions that you had to write an answer to. Things along the lines of "what does your manager do well?" "What can your manager improve on?" I personally didn't like it as it was too personal to be anonymous.

You are silly @IieRslt-ivc 😁😊

Why are you doubtful instead of appreciating advice given.

Are you not open to learning new ? ha ha must be an old / long term Intel employee. Another-has-been 😋😊 .. wants to stay in past.

I believe it. In the last one year, there have been too many people coming into Intel with salaries in excess of $185 base. This includes people I personally know that were hired in a similar senior grade as mine around the same time as me.. 😔

Even the Oregonion newspaper reported that average salary for Intel Employees in hilly billy state of Oregon is on average $170k.

Anyways each to their own. Those that don't want to improve and make their life better and richer ?

Remain as you are 😋😉😊 .. ok ?

Tool will be back on line soon and will be used to BK'd employees based on their feedback.

@IieRslt-ziz ah that was a great man with integrity and when he yelled you deserved it. All the CEOs since were a steep drop, at least CRB had some smarts but he was arrogant. PSO had good business sense but no technology at all ( MBA from Cal ), then BK will what's there to say for a San Jose State Chem E and factory monkey now throwing darts in the corner office to figure out strategy.

Maybe next time around the darts will land close to something meaningful, but right now the company is getting BK'd big time!

All managers are great, no areas for improvement required.

The ACT got rid of all the marginal dead wood including managers.

Just like BK those that remain will get 31% raises like him, Moore's Law is alive and well, IoT, 5G, and Memory will reignite growth and reality TV show, drones and bracelets will make intel a great brand again!

Forget it. Manager's performance or behavior does not matter to Intel. Managers are GODs protected by Intel HR and Legal to continue mistreating the minions.
