Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Here's the next RIF coming!! Thanks Dave

For all those that accused me of "fear mongering" and trying to stir people up. Here's the manager advance email for the next round of securing Daves stock price!

ADVANCE COPY: MESSAGE FROM THE AEROSPACE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Not for distribution -- Will be sent to Aerospace employees in the U.S. and Canada at 12 p.m. Phoenix time

October 20, 2016

Dear Colleague:

As you know, we continue to operate in a slow growth environment. In particular, certain portions of our Business Jet and Defense and Space businesses are experiencing industry-wide demand weakness. Much of this was recently outlined in Honeywell’s public announcement on October 7, where we acknowledged that third quarter sales and earnings in Aerospace will be lower than anticipated. We are not forecasting business conditions in these sectors to recover in the short term.

Regrettably, due to these factors, we’ve made the difficult decision to conduct another workforce reduction in the U.S. and Canada to better align our business with current demand.

We fully understand how difficult this environment is for everyone across the company with the cost actions that have taken place. We will move as quickly as possible through the process and do our best to inform affected employees as soon as possible.

Individual employee selection requests will be considered following established consistent and equitable policies and procedures. Employees who wish to express interest in being selected for this reduction should do so confidentially by sending an email to their Human Resources contact by close of business on November 1, 2016. Any self-nominations submitted for the reduction will be irrevocable after November 1.

Eligible employees selected through this process will be offered the same benefits as other employees impacted by these reductions, including severance and outplacement assistance. Honeywell reserves the right to accept or reject self-nomination requests based on business needs. The Honeywell reduction in force policy for non-represented U.S. employees is available online. For Canada, please see your HR representative.

We are making several investments in our business to drive more immediate sales and long-term growth in an effort to avoid or soften cost actions. However, additional actions may be necessary should market conditions continue to deteriorate, including in other regions of the world, which would be determined on a country-by-country basis, following local laws and practices.

Thank you for continuing to remain focused in this environment. Your efforts with increasing sales, improving our execution and serving our customers is integral to helping us improve the situation.

Azcentral.com this morning (Friday, 10.21), says small number of employees will be affected in Manufacturing & Engineering. (Small number?). They're making it sound trivial. One person being let go is one too many (unless it's one or both of the 2 clowns in charge).

It's not fake - this is one of the posts where the actual stuff leaked and this site helped us all find things in advance. It's not a huge help but it's good to know that we collectively have a somewhat better position when we share info among ourselves. Take that Dave...

The timing of this RIF tells me that they totally screwed up on the last one by grossly under cutting, and when they reported the numbers to Cote he said; WTF, is that it?

We had all expected a 5-10% cut, especially with all the talk of no work on the horizon, and it ended up being only about 2%. The geniuses are now here to correct that f/u. So now many more of us will be fkd.

Also, the recent financial numbers and revenue guidance, which the market ‘absolutely loved‘ may have served to fast forward this cut.

@vzk- you're probably right. It's so sad to see what they've done to this great company. Ive been with HON since 2004 and ive seen the steady decline, at this rate there wont be a company in 2 years. To all my fellow co-workers, it's every man for himself! Man the life boats and abandon ship.

@k1h thank you for what you do, but I would like to argue something with your last post.

You assume Davey and Timmy can read. Judging by their performance I would assume neither of them have two brain cells to rub together

I am the OP. I wish I could lead the charge against honeyhell and their bullsht crony business practices, but i also need to look out for #1. This latest RIF is just proof that HON is being led by dipsht hacks who call themselves "leaders". Tim Mahoney (AKA Timmy Baloney) should be ashamed, but I guarantee he isn't. If he was serious about being a true business leader, he'd be too ashamed to show his face at sky harbor.

We all see the writing on the wall; HON AERO is finished. The last question is, stay or go? I am under 40 and I encourage all my peers to leave, and leave asap. If you are close to retirement, try to stick it out and wait for the pension buy out coming up. As soon as I have another job, I'm quitting this shthole company with zero notice. Until then, I will continue to share secrets I hear because the employees of this company deserve better than the way they're being treated. If HON won't treat people like respected professionals, then I will. Tim or Dave, if you are reading this, you both get fcked.

at this point and time, I wonder if the ones already gone are the lucky ones...who's going to hire permanent employees at Christmas? just when we think morale cant get any lower...its Honeywell roulette! our last RIF had no rhyme nor reason to it, it seems they just let some people go...

Translation: Nobody wants our old products anymore and with no investment in the future going on for a number of years now, no new products to offer. We have burned every customer we ever had so we are at the bottom of all supplier rankings. Since my final purpose is to loot every cent out of the company and sell it off, employees will continue to be fleeced and thrown into the volcano as sacrifices.

Once the TPP and patchwork of trade agreements goes through, whatever positions we need will be filled with foreigners that you will train for us to get your severance packages, if we decide in our corporate citizen heart to give you one. We won't even need to apply for H1-B visas anymore as all labor will be considered free trade, which we made sure to get into those agreements done in secret behind closed doors. This has been our plan all along.

Don't forget to sign the agreement that you won't sue us for age discrimination or any other reason for the rest of your life to get that severance, too.

From my mobster heart,

Dave

31% ??? I think that is fear mongering. They can't cut much deeper in our area, they might actually have to cut AME''s or M&PM.

Sometimes I wish this forum weren't anonymous. All the managers I see around the office tow the line and praise Honeywell's leadership, but clearly there are a few of them on here just as upset as the rest of us cronies. Wish I knew who they were so i could salute them in the halls or something.

I find this incredibly sad, and I have to agree with the previous anonymous post... what math whiz didn't get this right the first time? Well... .look to the Aeroshit Leadership team. When this happened in Q1, someone asked Travis Whats-his-name...about how much the RIF would help in achieving the Q1 shortfall. He stammered. He said "We haven't done that analysis".

CHOKE.

You are laying off people, but haven't done the analysis? Not a smart comment to a room full of finance people. And they actually had done some analysis, with a range of savings being 5-10%.

Later, Travis Whats-his-nuts said something along the lines of, I know it was hard for you all at year end (furlough impacting Christmas, RIF in January), ....blah blah blah... My family & I just bought a new camper/RV and went on an amazing trip.

WTF? I don't live check to check, and I have a dual income family... even I scaled Christmas way, way back.

THIS IS ONE OF YOUR LEADERS. amazed

Nothing says "F* you" more than the 1-2 punch of a Furlough/Rif. And then repeat it through out the year.

All I can say is people... get out. If you stay you are telling the company that you aren't valuable. And you are telling the world that you are a Masochist.

How does it feel to be getting laid off and furloughed so that Davean wall street can make millions? Every HON employee owes it to themselves and dave to make sure that stock tanks as far as it can go. Look for a new job and fvck HON over as hard as they are fvcking you over.

Ladies and gentlemen, let's give a round of applause for aero leadership.

The first RIF that was disruptive to the workforce and created a toxic workplace worked so well they have streamlined the 3 month process down to something more tolerable. That's HOS at work for you.

Which math whiz didn't do the numbers right the first time around? Two of these back to back doesn't seem like 'Fast and Right' to me. Seems like dumb and dumber are captaining this sinking ship.

Can't wait for Dairyass to take the reigns from Cote, because I expect great things and positive changes from the guy who has spent his career with Davey's balls on his chin.
