Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

2 important questions that will greatly effect ALL of us.

Have you been saving for 2019 or will you be on here crying poor instead of enjoying the time off?

Whether you are union, wireless, accounting, legal or management, you should already be saving at least $100 a week for 2019. For those that will be forced away from your families unwillingly, this would give you the option to tell Verizon to f-- off and give you plenty of time to start fresh.

Has the union started preparing for 2019 or will they again wait until it's too late and allow themselves to be backed into a corner?

Since the end of the strike, no one has been out of the sights of the Verizon executive toxicity machine. If the CWA and IBEW do not start taking a stand now and prepare to strike immediately in 2019, the union will be broken. Before all of you union haters start chiming in, just realize that the end of the union at Verizon will start a company wide $hitstorm of layoffs, riffs, terminations and complete Verizon's goal for the race to the bottom.

Does it ever get embarrassing to say same thing over and over again, so sure of yourself, and it's proven wrong every single time?

Verizon Wireline will be sold off before the next strike and the new company will break the Union

So you berate me for noting that I'm catching up on 7 weeks pay and then state:

"You don't come on here, where the company watches, and learns and takes notes of what hurt them, and what didn't."

Well they should then learn that the 7 week strike didn't break me and neither would a 17 week strike. So for now get your panties out of a bunch and settle down.

OP is for all those IBEW cry babies out there.

IBEW, did you vote to start a strike fund yet? Did your Local put it up for vote?

Answer : NOPE

Now, now, now....... management does occasionally fix a time sheet, place a redundant piece of paper in your mailbox or send you an email. Other than that, it's conference call after conference call filled with mental masturbation.

That is so true, if a manager doesn't show up for work he/she is definitely not missed. They really have no function that tablet can't do. But if a tech doesn't show up for work, they truly are missed, they are the people actually do the job. The tech see's the customer, does the install, repairs and handles all the customers needs face to face. The tech's really can control a managers future with the company.

I wonder why so many managers are D--ks. Lets sink them.

Are you serious? You managers are pathetic parasites, your posting on here that your job function is to......What? correct the customer on things we misinformed them on? are you serious? That's what they need you for? Like what?? be more specific? Verizon pays you to do what exactly? That's what you do all day? There is no reason i even need a manager, I do it all. i have all the tools i need to complete my day without you. Where are the RiF's?

I am the face of the company you A$$wipe, not you. I do the job, you do nothing. You are a lazy good for nothing hanger On-er who should be fired for theft of services. There is no need for you. My tablet does your job. Your money comes though me, from the customer who I, not you, provide service to. I work, while you masturbate.

Guess what? if you didn't show up for work tomorrow.....You would not be missed. I would. FACT!

You are way wrong. It has nothing to do with those companies at all. Lowell does not want to be in the telephone business any more. He wants to be a telematics and marketing company. Think AT&T when they wanted to make computers or be a cable operator. That is where Lowell is and the company is headed to the same place, out of business.

@nyu I'm the one who has to speak to the customer you misinformed. So much for feeling you're so important. Go sit your butt down somewhere. People like you give me a job because of your screw-ups. Nothing like informing a customer with bad info and having me having to explain that you're misinformed and are clueless to the company's processes.

My point exactly to the two so called Union member morons....YOU HAVE MANAGEMENT DEFENDING YOU ! that says it all.

To the manager, if you had read their posts before i was cutting, and pasting their spelling and grammar, know before you type.

Also you don't work in a garage? your position is redundant then, you are not needed, you should be RIF'd immediately, I work, you don't. I see the customer. You don't. The customer pays the bills that pays all our salaries. I see them face to face in their homes to provide Verizon's services to their satisfaction. You masturbate in a closed room somewhere waiting for me to earn your money. I'm your daddy, I'm the bread winner, your wife should be on her knees thanking me.

Ask yourself honestly Mr. Manager.....Did i really EARN my money this week? sitting on my A-- or brains....I wasn't sitting, i was earning your money. GET RIF'd please.

@owq hey dip$hit. I'm management, don't work in a garage but have worked craft in the past. Imagine that! A management person defending a union member. Go sit your stupidity down and learn to spell and write correctly. You come on here with your guns blazing like the typical keyboard warrior talking a lot of nonsense you'd never have the nerve to tell someone in the face. Now go find a dictionary and some grammar books. While you're at it, take up some reading comprehension, you seem to lack it dearly.

Yours truly,

80 man garage? wrong try 130.....""Probly got 10 years in the company" wrong again, double it plus....""aint sacrificed sh-- like the rest of us"" Strike three, I was on a 7 week strike also...Man you guys dumb, and i don't just mean your spelling. I can't believe i work with mental midgets like you two.

My point is you jackas--es, and that's what you both are. You don't come on here, where the company watches, and learns and takes notes of what hurt them, and what didn't. They are learning from you for the next one. You to imbeciles have probably (( and that's the correct spelling of probably Moron number 1)) already whined to you foreman your miseries. They also report back up your situations that's how they learn.

I was smart, and so were most of my garage, we planned, and this strike had very little long lasting financial effect on us . Even the people that were not prepared have fully recovered and then some, so whats your problem? It must be the water were you two retarded moron jackas--es live.

Again both of you, please resign from the Union, and join management your brains are perfect for that positio , we don't need stupidity like you in our ranks.

That loser is just starting a fight. I work in an 80 man garage and every f#&^÷n person there is trying to recover from the strike . Either his is full of it and dont work here or he is a millionaire. Probly got 10 years in the company. And aint sacrificed sh-- like the rest of us

@atc until you walk in another person's shoes, stfu. Seriously? All they said was that they were recovering from last strike and will start saving once caught up. They may have obligations or a family emergency that prevented them from saving. Don't get mad at another individual's situation. You obviously didn't notice that glass house you live in.

@ggy Resign from the Union, and become a manager your thinking is already there. Then, on the plus side you wont lose any precious weeks pay. You seem like a perfect fit for management, extremely short sighted and very ungrateful. The Union membership can't have thinkers like you bye. Good luck, and good riddance.

Here's a statement of fact....Your an A--hole. Don't now try and tell me that your post wasn't a dig at the Union, and the strike, crying about your losses. "can't save still trying to catch up for 7 weeks no pay" Bulls--t ! I can see right through you Bulls--t,

It's ignorant losers like you that like to put fear, and doubt in people. But in Victory you wave the Union flag, and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. GET LOST

Who's crying? It's a statement of fact. I have to catch up on the losses now and then start saving for the next one. I wasn't unprepared and I did all my picket duty including some extra rallies. So I'm not sure where you're getting off saying that I'm crying about it because given the choice again I would support this strike 100% again.

@ggy, my point exactly, you weren't prepared for the last strike. It's like death and taxes. Every 3 or 4 years now, the chance of a strike is very likely. Lowell & company would love for everyone who is not on the board of directors to be out on the street, so that they can continue to bleed the cow dry. If you knew a terrible storm was coming, you would board up the windows of your home. In 2019 we had all be ready for the storm.

You got a good contract! and a job! Next time don't go on strike and see what you get. You! ....you moron personally should work if there ever is a strike because the Union Brother, and Sisters doesn't need weak cry baby sissy loser like you. do us all a favor and WORK NEXT TIME!

Are we even competing with Time Warner, Optimum, or Comcast anymore?

Seems more like collusion than competition in wireline these days.

Post ID: @cqj+Jc3rSGl

@nhj, it's not enough to just acknowledge your competition, especially when those at the helm are running the business into the ground. Those of us in the trenches need to take a stand and demand that our company regain focus on what we are, a communications company. Shamwow getting out is just the first step. MacDumb@ss, Strap-on, Skinny Jeans, Smudge, etc. must all be shown the door. Unfortunately, we are our own biggest roadblock right now. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. The exception being in I.T.

Not to sound out of place in this, but shouldn't our "fight" be with our competition. Whether or not it's T-Moble, Sprint, AT+T, Time Warner, Optimum, Comcast. These are the companies, and their people that are looking to send us all home.

I really can't understand we this message can not be conveyed to all employees of Verizon from the top to the bottom. We need to get on the same side in this "fight" ALL our lives are at stake.

How will the management haters deal with the issue? Maybe the managers should become more union friendly. The union can't be the only one fighting the fight.
