Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

TWWW

It's been a while since I worked at Intel and I never heard of TWWW.

I had to look it up.

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/enterprise-mobility/workplace-transformation-white-paper.html

Holy sh1t!

No wonder people are pissed.

I never read so much BS codensed into a whitepaper.

Employees are getting Clown-hammered by these overzealous bureaucrats.

@1ofz

You obviously don't understand basic arithmetic.

Let's say my company has 5 people. 1 manager and 4 worker bees. There is no growth so the employee count stays at 5 for a decade or more.

Do all 5 people become managers? Who does the work?

Take your time - I know you're a little bit slow.

@JlasYps-ood, "Why would a young talented person go to Intel?

There's zero growth. This means the old farts that have been there for 15-20 years won't change"

Why? Maybe to learn something useful from old farts who brought those market-dominating and revolutionary microprocessors to people, making billions for the company on the way?

Oh, wait, all old farts were fired... What a field for growth and promotions for RCGs! Go folks, go! You will do wonders, you don't need all these stinking old farts who don't want to change physics!

Why would a young talented person go to Intel?

There's zero growth. This means the old farts that have been there for 15-20 years won't change which means less opportunity for advancement for the younger troops.

You need add net jobs to keep the promotions flowing otherwise everyone in the company become a VP.

No growth = death in this industry.

@nwv - exactly. Intel has not been an employer of choice for Millennials unless they basically have no other option or don't know any better

I am stupider from having read that obtuse piece of nonesense. They can shove their nexus right up their azzes.

I will now go on to read some Linux kernel source code to regain my lost IQ points.

Is this sh1t for real?

There’s an emerging consensus behind the social, mobile, analytics, and cloud (SMAC) stack as the best architectural model for change, although it goes by a variety of names. IDC calls it the "third platform." Gartner calls it the "nexus of forces."

How are you doing on your nexus of forces?

What kind of bullsh1t is this?

Successful innovators accelerate the pace of change. For example, if your competitor takes two years to bring out a new product, set your own cadence to one year.

Really? What if it actually takes two years?

Fckuing morons.

they have been trying hard to get the digital natives aka Millennials. But Intel is not cool enough, and the word is out on the dog-eat-dog culture and Focal. They had a Millennials Summit in Folsom earlier this year for example, and the ERP (employee referral program) was heavily promoted to help bring new young talent into the company. Now, this is just my perspective from the Millennials I knew inside, but many of them were interns first and both those who were and those who weren't tended to be offspring of Intelians. I never saw a lot of truly new Millennials except one--and she was ISPd. If I were a Millennial, Intel is literally the last place I would consider joining.

Thanks for finding this. What a steaming pile of BS. Nothing about uni-sεx bathrooms though, but 'recycling center' are important for productivity? I smell Bain or McKinsey high priced, recycled business school advice in this paper. What the hell is a digital native?
