Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Wanna find out what's still going on inside? Have lunch at a place frequented by Intel employees!

The eavesdropping is fun. I've heard several convos about more layoffs, about continuing managerial stupidity, about BK-isms, about technical FUBARs, and ERPers coming back as green badges almost immediately. ACT was a joke.

@JnJkkAe-1oiq Since you asked when I was there it was anger and worry at the stupidity but it is all entertainment now to watch the circus get more desperate as things get more so too!

If you're already out, why do you even care about that place?

ISP here, my director said he tried to bring me back as a contractor and was not allowed. I am not sure how hard he tried or if they gave him a timeline (he did not tell me). I have heard so many versions of what is possible and what isn't that I don't know what to believe.

@gzt- Roadhouse in Hillsboro.

Every site has 'the place' where people hang and vent. I buy a pitcher of beers and the $hit just spills out, trust me there is so much that is screed up that if I still worked there I'd be in tears and shivering for my future. Noworried a year of salary and all that 35 stock and happy to watch the titanic sail off

Notice how you don't hear any conversation about how great it is to work for a fast growing, highly innovative company!

Also, the Intel Retiree website clearly promotes Kelly Services as a way to go back to Intel doing your own job as their contract employee. Again, lower pay and no benefits. But if you really want to go back, that's an option.

I went to an Intel retiree luncheon this week. The gal next to me had taken ERP. She was immediately hired back to do her old job as a green badge. I asked her how that happened. She said her manager initiated a request and it was approved. I think the no-rehire thing only applies to blue badge jobs. ISPs, I don't know. They may be permanently out.

@JnJkkAe-orj. What is RH1?

Just go to RH1 buy a pitcher for your poor friends still on the Titanic.

Or if not at Hillsboro I am sure every location has one of those places 😉

@zep. Only applies if you come back as a BB!!! You can come back as a green badge (much lower pay and no benefits) or even as a LLC/Preferred Provider at any time. I know one guy who planned ahead, created a LLC with him as principal, and is now doing his old Intel job as a contractor.

hmmmm... I didn't think ERPers could come back almost immediately unless they wanted to pay back the package. I thought they had to stay away for a year before it was penalty-free.
