Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

I work as a Tech at W, I have seen many engineers with many years of experience and they cannot even use Excel................

Besides that they can even think out the box, unable to communicate, cannot analyze, unable to make decisions, 0 wireless knowledge. I wonder how do they got hired? Who hired these people? This probably means the manager and directors are even worse than these engineers. If I could be in any of these positions I will do better than them.

@KJ8U8mH-1ngj I don't know any engineers who really "know" how to use Excel. I mean, they can enter a number and make a little plot, but no serious engineer worth their paycheck is a knowledgeable Excel user. That's like saying, "Why doesn't your doctor know how to change a bed pan and clean the hospital toilet?"

That's because no halfway decent engineer uses Excel. If I saw an engineer using Excel instead of Matlab or Python, I would ask them, "WTF, you use Excel?"

Give the tech a break, you and I know many people within our groups which has close to 0 knowledge, yes they are engineers and went to MIT perhaps but they DO NOT have idea what they are doing....

I believe many of the techs performs better than engineers, we need to first analyze the reason why they are not engineers but honestly speaking some are way better, more disciplined, have strong technical background and perform better than their management. If I have the power I will promote many many of the techs to enginers in no time.

Yeah, you can do better and still at Tech level. Wake up, there is reason why you are a Tech. If you would have proved that you are worthy enough, any one team would have hired and promoted you, at least for Engineer level.
