Well after talking for a minute or so he's recruiting contingent workers for Intel,18 months probably paying pennies on a dollar with no benefits. I told him I took ERP and probably not eligible for a year but even if I were, I wouldn't go back for $100.00 hr. I understand when a company needs to cutback due to falling revenue but this so unethical to force people out and bring in people from the backdoor paying them peanuts. NO THANKS!

I was forced to leave. I would return if I could (but can't). I don't blame Intel, I blame my management (new 2015 manager in an apple to oranges setup) who told me in February 2016 that did not know how to measure my value compared to the rest of the other 12 coworkers after I spent every 1:1 in 2015 talking about my projects with her. She aknowledged that my work must be valuable to others in intel because of the recognitions I keep getting but not to her. I do blame Intel for mixing L4 with IRs and treating them like if they were IR themselves and putting us in the No-rehire list. And of course, I blame myself for not changing jobs a couple of years early.
Agree --would never return, ERP as well------ unethical.

OP is thinking of getting $100 an hour .....when most Intel contractors get less than $50.
RCG's don't care @agp. Only your generation views a company as their career, the younger generation doesn't. They jump from job to job for varying reasons. Sounds like a much better way to me (I;m a Boomer so not like I'm younger and saying 'my way' works). Think about it... once you're at a company it's not all that easy to ask for a large raise, yet they might be hiring in people near or above your salary. the ONLY way to ask for more is to be new in the door. That means jumping from company to company. It's a smart way of doing things if you ask me. I wasn't a "blue blood" THANK GOD. I worked for a lot of different companies and industries. Intel was just my final (and longest) job at 16 yrs. Wish I had continued doing the job jumping but I wanted that darn SERMA!
Also, you weren't forced out with a VSP, only ISPers were forced out. You might have FELT you were forced out so left on your own but it wasn't forced. Sure, there was a lot of talk about those that got VSP should really really consider going because the next round wasn't going to be as profitable... but that was still not "forced".
@agp- OP here, I also was offered VSP so knowing that this ship was sinking, more layoffs were coming, I took the best package that I believe Intel will ever offer. By the way, I am an OWG as well and inclusion for BK means no white guys.
I took ERP, but it was forced because I got the VSP notice. I feel like I have been completely betrayed by the company I trusted. I am a great engineer, did my job well. Not everyone can be on that DRA project and not everyone can get a promo every cycle. This last VSP - ACT was a sham to get rid of OWG (old white guys). Listen up RCG's. Is this the company you want to work for? Invest your heart and soul into? Sacrifice time away from your family just to be thrown away because of some quota?
