Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

INTEL Doomsday Scenario

INTEL is now on steroids. I see exactly what is going on. The following I expect to happen as doomsday scenario:

[1] INTEL posts decent results for the Q4, Y2016 (in January 2017). Share price hoovers around $33/$35 USD.

[2] BK resigns in February 2017, taking Golden Parachute (around $20M USD).

[3] Whoever comes as CEO (Diane, Murthy) does not matter anymore (bunch/much of propaganda goes on).

[4] INTEL runs further on steroids, posting bogus book results.

[5] INTEL posts for Q1, Y2017, corrected results/guidance, 10% worse then projected.

[6] Share price goes/falls to $25 USD.

[7] There is uncontrolled panic INTEL Inside... 20K layoffs announced, no severance packages handed/allowed.

[8] Wearables are cancelled.

[9] IOTG goes down the drain.

...

[X] U Name it!

Please, record my post, and check later (by the announced dates) this prediction. ;-)

Thank you,

Time Will Tell

Luckily PC market has bottomed and Intel can continue merrily losing money in other businesses. It is not BK or MR or DB that will keep Intel going but it will be the x86 monopoly.

@KvQ1dIV-weo Intel's issues are far larger than EUV. It used to be Tick Tock and now Tick Tock Tick Tock. We have four generations of design on one generation, pretty much BK and LTD have fumbled Moore to TSMC and Samsung. They are so behind EUV is beyond their event horizon!

Isn't a matter of if but when, but sooner than later as BK has totally BKed it!

@KvQ1dIV-uwa, everything is possible, isn't it? Yes, I recall... the Annual investor meeting, which normally happens in November, was cancelled (or pushed out). For many reasons... ?!

So far, as we see, there is a deadly situation slowly building around INTEL: INTEL's EUV lithography is lagging behind TMSC's, Foundry's, also Samsung's one! And... INTEL is playing tricks, smoking mirrors and marketing bogus branding, in order to buy more precious Time... And Time is ticking: tick, tock, tick, tock... NOT as with INTEL broken clock: tick, tock, tick, tock, tock, tock... Something there is seriously broken (TTM is more and more fading)! ;-)

Re: 2 - Do you really think BK was successful? Again, I'll repeat, BK must bail out before INTEL demise. And the time is coming, inevitable. It is just matter of time... Nothing less/nothing more. and also I don't think BK resigns (that's too short a reign in Intel land)

Oh heck no, I don't think he was successful. However, while it may be too short a reign... keep in mind that the Annual investor meeting, which normally happens in November, was cancelled (or pushed out), remember..? It could be for a variety of reasons or... maybe OP's #2 is correct.

I'm not @quc. Just jumping in on the convo. :)

@KvQ1dIV-quc, I like your reply, which gives us firm bases to continue this discussion.

Let us go step by step.

2 - Do you really think BK was successful? Again, I'll repeat, BK must bail out before INTEL demise. And the time is coming, inevitable. It is just matter of time... Nothing less/nothing more.

3 - No relevance, both DB and MR are pure morons. Or anybody else taking blame on/for catastrophic leadership last 16 years.

4 - Contra revenue is not bogus??? I don't buy this argument. It is BOGUS. Anyway, McAfee and Altera are coming to hunt back. As huge misses, as very bad moves. Too bad!

8 - I'll give you credit for this one... 100%!

Regarding comment: Intel certainly never grows again without accretive acquisition-related revenue. I do not envision any growth anywhere... Just steady revenue in Clients (slowly declining) and Servers (keep it flat for some years, till Y2019). Everything else is a toast!

Anybody else???

These aren't necessarily all off base. I don't think BK resigns (that's too short a reign in Intel land), which negates #2 and part of #3. They also won't post bogus results, though they will likely keep offering projections that are too aggressive. Wearables is already toast, so that's not even a 'prediction'. IOTG doesn't have a traditional cost structure so that can be fudged. Everything else is a slow, inexorable slide - Intel certainly never grows again without accretive acquisition-related revenue.
