Meh TSMC is having yield issues with 10 mm, just like Intel had at 14. Where are the new Apple A10X products? Not shipping due to TSMC being behind. They're going to run into the same problems as Intel at 7 mm, seriously doubt it will ramp in 2018.
Apple only has a market share of roughly 7%, but they tend to be somewhat of a pipecleaner for technologies. It's well-known that Microsoft could release an ARM version of Windows anytime they wanted to. If Apple switches to ARM, the Wintel world will not necessarily end immediately, but Lenovo, HP and Dell will at least wake up, scratch their heads and wonder if they are riding the right train.
Heck, there is probably a simple way for mainboard makers to release ARM PC mainboards with an older cheap Intel processor on them to be able to run old PC applications in a VM in an ARM Windows.
If Intel is so good where is the foundry with scoring anyone relevant?
If Moore's Law is so compelling why is Canonlake not here as it is going to be better, faster and cheaper and crush ARM and everyone else?
There are no short cuts to Yield learning, look at 14nm against schedule and empty promises and whether TMG delivers from two years ago.

@uzq, I've seen the competitive analyses and transistor breakdowns, Intel spends a considerable amount of effort to understand where we stand with TSMC. TSMC 10 nm has a slight edge to Intel 14, but not at the next nodes. No wonder you got fired from Intel, no data, pulling things out of your a--.
@uxp - Intel 10nm is not superior to TSMC 7nm. It is slightly superior to TSMC 10nm, but not 7nm. You will have to wait until Intel 7nm to see something superior to TSMC 7nm, and it's going to be a loooooong wait.

10 nm is yielding and already superior to TSMC 7 nm. You do realize that ARM has no fabs, right? Intel could make ARM if they wanted.
10nm ARM will wipe x86 on 14nm and next year ARM 7nm will be competing against 14nm too as intel 10nm is not going to show up. Ain't no wonder everyone going to ARM and why intel is playing in an ever shrinking garden
