@7nip Stipulations are now that once you are notified on Monday, you have to work that entire week until your last day (Friday) or else you won't get the last (up to) 7 weeks of your severance.

I have been notified of my WFR. Last day April 21. I am in the US. This is NOT misinformation. It's fact. I was one if those originally slated for March WFR from HPE.

No layoffs today on the HPE IT team. Commenters here are full of misinformation and fear mongering as usual.

If your CSC then DONT leave as soon as you now, wait until your day 9 consultation then apply for VR. You can do that and it's a 100% guaranteed acceptance. During the time you can apply for jobs and go for all the interviews and get paid your salary. Also reduce your workload by 50% straight away, the law allows you certain concessions and looking for jobs, applying for jobs, CV creation etc is all part of it.

If you hit lucky and new employer needs an answer sooner rather than later then don't wait until day 9 consultation and apply for VR immediately.

My advice is to get yourself out as soon as you know you are being WFRd.

I prebooked leave from the day after I knew I would be told i was going and when it happened I got my head down applying for jobs. Others hung about for 2 weeks until the end of March to get the extra money for owed leave paid with their payout.

In my case it paid off. I had a second interview and a job offer, that I mmediately accepted, last Thursday (6 days after leaving HPE but 20 days after stopping working). Since then I've turned down three further interviews including two today.

Nof boasting, I'm just incedibly relieved, just saying don't hang on to HPE - forget them and move on straight away. The sooner you get another job the better and your payoff becomes savings rather than a dwindling pool for living expenses.

UK Don't know their arses from their elbows. It's wil anybody that McKinsey has highlighted as being a model employee.

They generally look for hard workers and reliable skilled staff. If that's you then be worried. If your a devious manager who pushes people off the edge then your time has not arrived... yet!

@6vvf ex HPE friends in Newcastle have been led to believe they are safe in June but will get absolutely hammered in September.

968 to go from UK ex CSC side by end of Q1, plus 133 roles still to be identified. Maybe HPE side is safe or they will get another separate notification.

The pain continues. CSC had around 6000 staff by the end of FY16, with approx 2000 cuts in the last year with four phases I suspect the headcount to be at 4500 (grads n apprenticeships hires) and a further 1100 to go, taking it to around 50% reduction in just over a year.

ah ok, but no descretionary incentive to take VR? CSC gave £2800 on top of what's in the contract.

@6mgg

A weeks PILON for every year up to 12 years then 2 weeks for every year up to a maximum 1 yrs money.

I left after 30 years with 64 weeks money. I worked out that under CSC I'd have got about 44.

What is the UK severance package for HPE staff on standard HPE terms?

For CSC it's £2800 + a weeks salary for each year up to age 40 or 41, then It's 1.5 wks. Plus pilon a week for each year up to 12 weeks. Also a months notice which tends to be gardening leave more recently. In the past they made you work it.

Gutless senior management. I absolutely agree, afraid to put their own heads above the parapet incase they get noticed.

If there is any comfort in this.... in 15 years every single manager who played this game eventually got cut too, sometimes straight after they cut the required people.

Dxc are not dumb, would a thief ever trust a thief? As the saying goes there is no honour amongst thieves. One these dodgy managers do the dirty work... if us employees know they screwed us over then so does Dxc. They can never be long term assets to the company.

For the UK the fact that we get a new GM every 1.5 yrs is testament to this.

The whole pools thing is a sham. I was actually quite amused by the pathetic attempt to justify why theyd picked me. The true answer was that McKinsey told them to but they still went through playing games. Senior management are gutless tools whose day will come too.

We are not stupid people. Let go from HPE in July 16 I have a fat payoff in the bank, money in my pension and got a job, 30 minutes drive from home, in just under 3 weeks.

Don't whinge about it all. When the time comes just stop working and focus on your future. Get applying elsewhere and walk away with dignity.

We had a similar issue in the UK, the lady doing our mandatory business call cc'd the staff list instead of bcc, then got the people on the call wrongly aligned to the team. So in theory the whole basis for the pool was false.

Even after people complained saying they don't work for xyz team she wouldn't believe it.

Once the union got involved CSC had to scrap the pool. They then refused to send out the call script, and when they did they sent a doctored script out and removed all references to the errors from the call.

Starts Monday. HR sent list to WFR folks today which was intended for your managers......attended training session Thursday and Friday... hr attempted to re-call but hundreds viewed before recall initiated.

8 weeks with carve backs. The 1 week notice is taken out of your severance so if you maxed out at 8 you'll only get 7.

Layoff notifications to resume 10 April. Only one week notification period now, so you're notified on Monday, and that Friday is your last day. Maximum of 8 weeks of severance, many will not qualify for that. At least you will have your freedom.

This is a part of the transcript from the email that Peter Hands sent today, the key reference being 'Once confirmed we will be working with the relevant Employee Representative groups and the new leadership to complete the mapping of all Delivery staff to the new structure.' this basically means the union reps & UKEF etc will then be pulled into consultation meetings. So the process is well and truly underway.

We are entering into the new organisation in the current formation whilst the Deliver organisation is finalised. Once confirmed we will be working with the relevant Employee Representative groups and the new leadership to complete the mapping of all Delivery staff to the new structure. This is a large undertaking given we have in excess of 7500 people, we will do that thoughtfully and will communicate further in due course but in the meantime let me tell you about the high level principles for the mapping.

There is a top down reorg going on....

Basically if your a L4 or L5 and still have no role then chances are your going to be toast. This reorg will continue down the layers until the teams are all assembled.

Anybody that find themselves not in a team will be more than likely self scoring and deemed surplus to requirements.

There is a UK programme underway led my Michelle Maloney (ex CSC). The process is supposedly fair and transparent and all new appointments will be made thoughtfully.

Curious on any US DXC WFR packages ...

Besides a probable zero dollar kick out the door, what about any Health Care Benefits ?

A possible Cobra match of current inherited HPE benefits ??

Or a two week, thank you for your 30 years of service, enjoy your black and white balloon ?
