Looks like about 2,900 YTD
This week so far: 519+
chile 200
CGBU 239
UGBU 70+
HSBGU 10+
Unreported on singles and doubles, let's say abou 100
Prior total CYT 2,300
That gets you about 2,900 CYT
Anything missing from this?

i'm officially calling it 2,900 cumulative calendar year to date, some puts and takes, but the total number stay the same. To be continued next week.
Hear the old PBGU group in West Conshockon are going to be phased out.
There were cuts in FMW sales in the last week, not sure of the date.
FYI - Intel cut 15k last year, IBM cuts 10k every year, Qualcomm had a 10K+ cut in 2015. HP/HPE does annual 5K to 15K cuts... To paraphrase MH: stuff happens
Oracle has to keep cutting in order to keep the earning number look "good". I don't think they will cut 10% workforce this year. May be 5%.
I think if they let go of the hw division engineers, that would easily move the number up to 10k. Add in hw support and sales and so forth, >10% can be achieved in a blitzkrieg on a single day.
A cut of only 10% seems overly optimistic. Given that oracle is getting out of HW and the on-prem software businesses, I would expect a reduction of at least 30% - 50%. And that's assuming the cloud business does reasonably ok. That translates into several thousand employees being let go every month. Fasten your seatbelt, the roller coaster has barely left the station.
I guess oracle has ~140K employees.
even if the goal is to cut just 10% of employees this year , it is ~14K employees.
so far this year , they cut ~3K employees in 2 months.
so they still have to cut ~11K employees in next 10 months ( ~1100 employees per month)
March 15th earnings data should be interesting!
(as usual on-premise sw down , hw down , SaaS+PaaS up)
In Chile exist only 2 Employees in the CGBU :-S
Not sure where the workload is moving, apparently HW as a business is failing @ Oracle.
UGBU number is reported to be this week
Is that UGBU number all this week, or were there prior layoffs this CY?
Is all this workload going away or is it being moved to somewhere else and if so where to?
Now it is official, 130 in Chile. The HW Support Center is closing next friday.
