With EDMC withering away into the darkness after the sale to Dream Center Foundation, an era of mismanagement, predatory and profit driven antics will come to an end. Let's hope Dream Center is half as impressive as their philanthropic activities reveal. I am still surprised that no individuals did any jail time or were punished financially for profiteering so blatantly on the shoulders of hard working faculty and the thousands of hopeful students. Todd Nelson should be behind some bars, even if they were just financial ones. Goldman Sacs should be ashamed driving the company almost into the dirt. Good luck to the remaining die hards with the new nonprofit direction. Hope it works!

Isn't Trump a communist?
Still trying to figure out the pun smh.
What's hysterical is that Trump supporters don't think the federal funds being siphoned thru these scam shops affect them.
@4qwl. I would refer you to @ irqc who perhaps illustrated my point much better than I.
The central theme is really understood in the old adage of "while the cat's away the mice will play."
Or should the word "mice" be replaced with "weasels."
you must be trump supporter... wanting to privatize everything.
either that, or you have no idea of the different between public to private ownership and control.
hint: edmc is a private, for-profit corporation... NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY
for-profit = corporations, NOT GOVERNMENT! -_-
seriously?
you want to privatize everything?
do you not know that that's what got us in this awful mess in the first place?????
CORPORATIONS HAVE NO BUSINESS IN EDUCATION, PRISONS, OR HEALTHCARE !!!!!
Wait--there's another government program ripe for the picking and this is where these guys are going--federal and state job training programs. Reading the announcement, Richardson's (of Canyon U.) "family trust" is an investor in the buyout of EDMC. These guys are poised to rape government job training programs, just as EDMC did to government loans for education. Watch and learn.
@M14mZ8q,
What can you say about this whole mess.
I am thoroughly convinced that there are three institutions that should never be solely or nearly solely funded by Federal or State governments. These are: education, prisons and healthcare.
In the case of post secondary education you get high tuition for-profit schools with almost non-existent graduation and retention rates. A total waste of tax payer dollars and everyone loses.
In for-profit prisons, inmates with intractible cancer pain are given tylenol
In health care ever increasing deductible and premiums that place the burden on doctors and hospital to bear the financial cost of those without coverage.
If you want any sevice to turn to sh--, let the Feds be the their soul life support.
Of the aforementionef businesses, only the few profit with the rest always holding the bag. With the cons walking away laughing.
The deal is not done yet. What happens if it falls through? I don't know how the DOE will pass this
