US GLOBAL DELIVERY WFRs

Been with HP/HPE/DXC for just over 10 yrs.

Got a weeks notice to leave on 24 April. Severance pay was six weeks!! No unused holiday payout. Top performer consistently!! Salary was just over 100k!! Anyone want to share their story ?

17 years with HP (when they acquired Compaq, before HPE, before DXC).

Given notice on 6/23, told last say was the 24th. - Boilerplate documentation:

"A number of positions within our department have been affected by workforce reduction, and it is with regret that I must inform you that your position has been eliminated. Your employment with ES DXC Technology Company or its subsidiaries or affiliates (including but not limited to, Enterprise Services LLC) will end on..."

No raise for the last 5yrs. Yearly performance reviews were not professional, on paper they were but there was no guidance on completing them with tangible goals - considering there was no such thing as training.

Training = Intranet based documents/videos

Performance evaluations yearly = Management couldn't keep up with doing these FPR (focal point reviews) for all their direct report employees let alone go through them as intended.

Work ethic = "Just get it done". Several times thrown into an account/project/implementation with no knowledge or training on the technology and/or not getting it done right.

That is all I have to add to this.

Lol, I remember when I left DXC all of the links on the HR documents were broken. So much crap was still pointing to old HPE/HP sharepoints. They literally gave me no useful information.

5 years at HP-HPE-DXC with 5 weeks severence - but NO communication on WHEN that might arrive.

I had to fight for the additional week's vacation that I purchased. Very little to NO access to HR services, as they are not available yet at DXC. Was promised in print that DXC will pay for the first 30 days of COBRA, but no communication regarding HOW that will be conducted, or WHO to contact. The uncomfortable has been augmented by poor DXC planning, poor DXC communication, and extraordinary DXC cheapness. A big win for DXC!

I see people wanting to understand the selection criteria. There is a class action against HPE and HP filed in 2016 on age discrimination on WFR. The formula is higher tier salary and/or longer tenure - unfortunately it translates to higher salary plus medical benefits cost more (employers portion). It has almost nothing to do with your past contribution or performance.

The original idea for this post was to get people share some valuable stats about themselves like salary /location / time with company / performance ratings etc to see why the management chose some now over others later. Will not change anything but atleast lets us build our own stats to know what the priorities are for now !!!

I was with HP/HPE for 8.5 years and got less than one week notice along with what they referred to as five weeks severance, but which is really only four weeks because they subtracted the pay for my final week of work! If it were still a California company they would be required to give more notice, but since DXC is based in Virginia, it may actually be legal. I'm investigating.

Yes the HPE folks had it good, even with severance packages. Well now were all DXC and were all in the same boat. No pay increases for years, no accrued vacation , can't have over 10% of your 401K in DXC stock , fear that health benefits will cost a lot more for next year as well.

Face it unless your in India or Lithuania, your days are numbered

"...every great accomplishment was at one time thought impossible." Gentle Ladies and Gentlemen seize the moment for now is special, now will never come again. Corny, perhaps, but if you have education opportunity, training, certifications (that the company will pay for while your there), and you're not taking advantage of it, look no further than a mirror when it comes time for blame.

I, as many of you have a Family, Mortgage, Car Payment, but years in Combat have taught me that nothing is guaranteed. What can I do today, to make sure that I have a future tomorrow?

Your future, and that of your family is is your hands. Always have a plan "B", and be prepared for the "Ah-Sh--" moment. Sorry, about the soap-box, Just remember "YOUR KNOWLEDGE, LIFE & WORK EXPERIENCE, and YOUR VALUES set you apart!

When it comes time to dig deep, do that final gut-check, remember you are in control of your Destiny! No one else!

@frz Agreed also!!! I had even gone as far as talking over the phone with l2 and l3 leaders and asked why me!?? Their answer literally on these lines "Dont dwell on the past, what has happened is history, move on, this is per DXC company policy" No have no further reasoning to offer!!! My message to leadership "What goes around, comes around " !! So be ready for Karma!!

I am sorry. Same thing happened to me, I was with the company for 20 years starting at HP. I had 5 weeks vacation build up, no payout. Top performer. I had already been proactively looking for a job. Trying to support a family of 4.

Totally agreed with @N7Y... this is not about

feeling entitled but about the unethical conduct by the leadership. I had multiple offers before being "enticed" to join HPE less than a year ago. They "assured" me my skills would help as a contributor. Guess what? I became part of WFR right after spin merge. It's not the performance, it's not the "d---beats"... it's the classic "greed" by leadership at HP. HP is being sold as "used car parts" piece by piece... so sad...

to jds - this is a forum for anyone, from any company to share their stories and maybe vent a little. CSC folks are doing the same, so if you don't like the content, just stay off the site. People are losing their jobs left and right and don't need ingorant comments.
