We are being given fast wood workers and asked to make them into IT Professionals. We have been training PR folks for the last 6 months. Honestly the majority of these people have no work ethic , retain little of what they are thought, and can't think for themselves. Good luck with that model. There is a reason that this business was sold to DXC.... It can't sustain.

@2ffk - Puerto Rico and its citizens are part of America. That's what makes this "outsourcing" suspect, DXC is simply moving from one "American" location to another.

It has been done before many times, moving a group/ services from a "high-cost" area to a lower-cost area in the states.

Think of it like moving services to Hawaii... well, kinda, the island stuff is right but language and the fact Puerto Rico is not a state kinda blows holes in my analogy.

Make the change people. This is a fast moving ship to nowhere with holes in its bow and leadership does not see fit to patch them. The madness continues.

@-qoe wow that makes quite a difference! Hundreds if not thousands of servers (because ITO tries to cram as many VMs on each host as it can)

I wouldn't worry too much. With the island in bankruptcy and those that would be in the hiring pool leaving as fast as the planes can be filled, they are having a difficult time finding qualified "inventory" to perform the job at the salary offered.

Example would be the incident (sounds more like a problem) that @-iif refers to. I was told it was 35 virtual host servers containing multiple server on each. Yes, that was a real bad day in paradise.

Unique solutions like the Jackass who erased 35 production servers in Syracuse recently. Took the Datacenter down for weeks, way to shine.
