Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

You're not as clever as you think you are

To all you US SME's my personal experience of respectfully trying to engage you in our decision making process is so very very fraught, It is so difficult to genuinely connect when we come from very different business environments- often you seem to be well meaning but you are so far removed from Reality in our engagements. Well meaning directions are actually very very bad business decisions and cost chevron in both real profits but also in reputational damage in our local business environment. Respect needs to come both ways but at this point I don't see this in my engagements with you. Chevron is a global company not just some start up in Texas. It's time to grow up and genuinely engage with the expertise that exists outside of The US - you might be smart in Houston but in the rest of the world you need to show some respect and genuinely learn from the global talent that the company has to offer...anyone else experience this frustration?

The company infighting and backstabbing is horrible at this company. All new college graduates please trade and avoid this company. There are a lot better environments. Chevron is a dinosaur with a name but what is going on internally is sickening

2ncx, So you admit, in an open forum, anonymous or not, that you are illiterate. The layoff.com is definitely your home. Welcome!

No. I beg to differ. I am very clever. You, on the other hand, OP, are an idiot.

Great post .....very true. When i deal with the US SMEs my tack is to go down the failure path and wait ...could take up to 2 yrs and when it fails get what you wanted ....Theres always time to do it twice .....

You seem like a very genuine Butthurt Loser who got schooled by a US SME who taught you a few things but you have a hard head and cannot believe that someone else knows way more than you do and can teach you 100 times more than you ever knew. That's very common for narcissistic losers who cannot bear to be shown that they know very little than others in their subject discipline. Well, you have come to the right place!!! The LAYOFFs site. Wecome, my butthurt brother!

That's funny. You want respect to work both ways at a company like Chevron, with the kind of people they elevate and how they go about persecuting certain employees? That IS funny.
