sears summer blowout sale

Anyone on this post site in one of the 30 stores that have been doing the summer blowout sale?

All we are doing is taking markdowns to match the prices in sears, com.

Thankly it is over on June 24. Can anyone post how their store has done during these two past weeks?

In my store,it was a joke.

Maybe someone should notify the States Attorney about the raising of prices to have a sale.

Not advertising it as a sale probably helps keep under the radar of the state attorney generals who would pounce on a sale-on-inflated-prices scam in a hearbeat.

We raised prices and there is no advertising to let people know there is even a sale. Unless someone physically comes into a store they will never know we have a sale going on, and we all know no one is coming into the stores. Ours is like a ghost town

@tjh - I always laugh when people frame the situation at SHC as Sears vs Kmart or Kmart vs Sears. SHC is like the Titanic. The first class elites, Eddie and his minions, will be shown to the lifeboats. They will row away wealthy and unharmed. All other associates, whether you are on the HQ staff deck, the Sears associate deck or the Kmart associate deck, will be going down with the ship, side by side. You will not even be provided with a lifejacket, unless you have the foresight to create your own.

Now, to preempt the corporate trolls, I will rephrase what I just stated. You are on an exciting pleasure cruise and will be arriving shortly at a fabulous destination.

There were a few good deals. I got an a/c for 30% off and they never go on sale and the same equivalent at Home Depot was $60 more. Other than that, most items were not a good deal

@tjh I don't blame either store I work at Sears, and the problem is their was never innovation to compete in the market. Customers now adays are very smart and with technology they have gotten even smarter. I blame the top people that could of tried to change the business practice. They had tons of locations they could of pushed the online retailing hybriding with brick stores. Till this date they are still lagging it their website is horrendous. This blowout deals are a joke customers won't fall for this trickery they have gotten much smarter (their is a few that still fall for it).

It's a bit rude to say Kmart was an infection that brought sears down. You do realize that Kmart employees say the same thing about sears in regards to ruining Kmart? It's interesting how the company treats Kmart, especially when the sales have not been down as badly as the sears side each time they release same store results. Hmmmmm.

No change in sales or foot traffic at our store. It's just yet another sale.

All of these "tricks" reminds me of resuscitation of a dead patient. Nothing will work.

Everybody is going somewhere else. They don't want to be told it's not in stock, bagdered about Shop Your Way, PAs or credit, or worry if Sears will still be there to stand behind their product. They don't want to shop in hot, stuffy stores lacking air-conditioning. They don't want to search for someone to take their money because there are only one or two associates in each department, if that.

It never used to be this way. Yes, Sears had problems before the Lampert and Kmart infections but not to this magnitude. We still were well regarded. I know this because I've been with Sears for 24 years. Hope to be able to escape this via retirement before this heap goes up in flames.

It was a joke at Kmart. Most of the sale prices we had week to week were better then the inventory blow out prices.
