@NVA7vih-3swj - Is that Healthcare Spending Account or Flexible Spending Account? I thought what you mention applies to Flexible Spending Account, not sure though.

When someone is WFR'd and asks for suggestions, I agree naming the country might be beneficial since each country has differeentt laws and concerns. Asking that person what org they are in, and ESPECIALLY HOW MANY PEOPLE GOT HIT, is not being supportive at all. One thing a person should also do is cash in any employee recoggnition point you may have (HPE) - and if you have a healthcare reimbursement account from open enrollment (USA) ,spend as much as you can before your exit date. If you spend more than you have contributed so far in 2017, you do not have to pay it back. Company will never tell you this, it is a US Internal Revenue Service Law that you can spend it all.

@NVA7vih-1ozd, totally agreed right on target! The WFR is at a global level and not region, country, department, team specific....$$ in the pocket of leadership has no descrimination or criteria for that matter..please consider yourself dealing with "thieves" or "criminals" then you will resign to the fact what to do next to best protect yourself for your own future!! Exit or wait..

Proving specific identifying information is not well advised - all of the US is at risk including small teams, healthcare, USPS, airlines, all segments, those who are remote, located at small sites, over 35, etc.

Check to see if you can get prescriptions refilled (90 days worth if you can), before your insurance lapses (if applicable)

Here's a hint clever cloggs, DXC is a global company. The world doesn't revolve around the USofA.

Apologies OP, maybe I was a bit harsh so I apologise. However I still feel u should name and the bastards if they are doing you over a sub standard severance.

If you got notified pls can you clearly state where your based, what site, ideally which part of the org your in, how many got laid off

Here's a hint genius, we are located in the U.S.. Everyone in the U.S. is at risk for layoff so what difference does it make which part of the org?

Petunia, in my state you can file for unemployment before receiving the severance check. Do it asap. All the best!

No, I'm not going to be stupid enough to tell you my org or account or any other personally identifying information, troll. Go back in your hidey-hole.

To those of you who offered advice, encouragement, and support, many thanks and I wish all of you well. Remember, "when one door shuts, another one opens, but it's hell in the hallway." Something better IS waiting (it has to be, given where this journey is starting from).

Can you apply for state unemployment before you get your severance pay?

Agree with posts below. Clear your desk physical and virtual . Take what is personal including performance evaluations. Cut off phone and anything company paid saving receipts. Get receipts for laptop and accessories. Contact unemployment it may take time to kick in. Have a great midday lunch break. Contact recruiting agencies and have them help with cv especially if you have not seen the real world job market in years. Stay focused and positive and get out of the house every day. Best wishes.

Be sure to gather all previous performance reviews, training certifications any info you will no longer have access to such as email contacts, etc.

File with your state unemployment office immediately. Good luck!!!

First thing contact it support and schedule ticket to return any laptop computers or Deb tops if you have. Not sure if the people in charge would be such sticklers as to hold to Severance until equipment was returned but I have seen that in the past. Final thing just close out your accounts cut up your corporate travel and credit cards shut your company phone off because they will. Tomorrow will be another day with opportunities presenting themselves. Good luck.

Scaremongering? This scourge of a company and the Lordy-let-there-be-tapes wrongdoing executives have as good as promised to go after people who go public. So, eh, I'm not looking for any personally identifying information on this or any other board. STFU

@NVA7vih-uvb, wishing you all the best! Although I was new to HPE now DXC when I got the WFR ( after they actively pursued me), I found there are many talents/experienced genuily good people! I turned down offer from HP in the early 90's, always "had" a special regards for the organization. Not anymore. But yes, got to know some great people during my short tenure. Given you have "devoted" good amount of your life to this now "sinking ship", time to take a deep breath and look inwards what works best for you!! It's never easy but I'm a firm believer of the saying - if a door shut on you, it's not the right door for you,

While I understand the hardship will be imposed on you( or anyone) for that matter given the nature of WFR, believe in yourself that you are better off being out of this unethical organization. Wishing you all the best with your next chapter!!

Some people don't want to see and accept the writing on the wall, "intentional ignorance". After all that has been going on "scaremongering" ? What world would you be living in ?

May be the following note from today, might wake you up.... 27.5 years and thrown out as a waste !

" As some of you know, today is my last day with the company after 27 ½ years. It has been a wild crazy ride that I will truly miss!! Maybe not as much as I will miss the people that I have come to know, work with and respect from a professional and personal level. The last 12 years have been great and I will truly miss a lot of the people here.

Not sure where I am headed, but I will try to keep in touch. "

scaremongering? Why would anyone lie about something like this? And even they do.. why would you still want to work for DXC, regardless if youre ex csc or hpe. When was the last time you received a pay increase? How many jobs are you doing? Whats your pay compared to others doing the same job you do in the same area? .. unless you`re one of them old eds, who get payed a fortune, do no work whatsoever, and just wait for the huge payoff :)
