Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Echo chamber

Start a fake rumor and wait until it gets confirmed here with great certainty - my point is that at this time the best course of action is to just prepare yourself while finding something to do that keeps you sane - meaning not this site

If it were not for this site, I would've had no idea what to do when I got laid off as it's never happened to me before. And, while there are some people looking at just the rumor mill, there are far more people here sharing valuable information that Oracle never told us. I've been very pleasantly surprised to find that everything mentioned here was accurate. Severance calculation. What to expect in my package. WHEN to expect my package. Etc. This site has turned out to be the best and most accurate place for information and support on a lot of topics.

You can tell the ranters and the whiners, the shrills and the gloaters. Typically, they can just be ignored. I thank people for coming here and helping out, encouraging others when needed.

@1qfr ditto - I work from home also, with this being said the amount of information available to me is fairly limited. This website helps bridge that info gap (yes, its often off but I can deal with this)

I am thankful to this site for all the news, irrespective of its accuracy. I live in my own little world having no information about what's "really" happening around in the company. The layoffs stated here so far have been accurate enough for me and have given me an incentive to be prepared and make up my mind.

OP - each of us makes a conscious decision to come here (or not) - no lecturing needed, we are all adults. You need a BIG filter for this site - with time you learn what posts to tune out.

@ONZsnsR Since Oracle is not going to give you any warning, where else are you going to go for information? Even if you believe your position is in danger, you still need information to plan an exit strategy. Do you think folks going to this site enjoy reading this information.

@ONZsnsR so why do you keep frequenting layoffs.com? Your advice is in direct collision with your actions. Nobody is forcing me to come here, I chose where to go and how to spend my time - your suggestions are not welcome.
