Thread regarding Sears layoffs

@wnf Thats the thing this deal benefits Amazon more than anything. Sears doesnt win much out of this deal. This what it means Sears still needs to ship the products, still needs to manage the issues and all Amazon does is get the commission. This could be a bigger play to see if Amazon wants to buy Kenmore, but whoever thinks this is good for the company is delusional.

Agree with -mbe. I think it shows that the brand was shopped but no one was willing to pay any significant dollars for it, at least compared to what they got for Craftsman so might be a last ditch attempt to drum up sales and hope that Amazon buys it. Given people who shop at Amazon are generally from the younger generation, have less brand loyalty, and are more influenced by user reviews, I doubt this will be successful.

Kenmore and Diehard are both up for sale so, it would seem that this move by Eddie is merely a ploy to make the brand more appealing to a potential buyer. It has nothing to do with making Sears more profitable. It will only enrich his pockets and help to liquidate, on his terms , before the bankruptcy filing, the last remaining pieces of the pie.

I don't think people realize how bad this is for Sears. Every retail is competing against Amazon and instead Sears gives in to Amazon with a brand they have been looking to unload. At this point I would like to know why anyone would set foot in a Sears store. And before people say because customers like to touch and feel what they are buying please wake up and realize that in 2017 that is no longer the case. Don't believe it? Why is Amazon the leading retailer without having brick and mortar stores?
