Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

More layoffs in December

Rumors are going around that there will be another big layoff round in December, and they seem to be substantiated by the SEC filings.

According to the filing, Citrix expects to record between $60 million and $100 million in restructuring charges, including between $55 million and $70 million in employee severance and about $30 million related to the consolidation of leased facilities and other charges.

Citrix expects to complete the majority of those activities during the fourth quarter of 2017 and during fiscal 2018.

According to those numbers, we might be looking at more to come. If anybody has any more info, please post here.

It doesn't matter when "the next layoff" is. If this has taught us anything, it's to be ready for a layoff tomorrow, whenever "tomorrow" actually happens to be. If you've survived this round, assume another one is coming "sometime." Keep kicking a-- where you are right now and prepare for the future. Save money, use your health benefits to take care of all the stuff you've been putting off, take advantage of the company-provided training you still have, renew/cultivate your industry contacts, and keep an eye on the market for your skills. When another layoff comes, whenever that is, it'll just be a signal to jump to the next thing waiting for you, not the end of the world.

@PBgaezS-vat - because those in charge haven't and wouldn't again lie to us in our faces about it, right? It's one of those questions that you will NEVER get a straight answer on because they CAN'T tell you. You can't be that naive.

Of course I'm not. I just said what was told - just a data point. I have been in this industry for long enough and have been on both sides of the table.

I hope the "December" talk is referring to UK employees who will have received the "your job is at risk" letters yesterday, they then enter up to 45 days of consultation before they are officially declared redundant. 4th Oct + 45 days = 18th Nov (if you only count work days then its December), add in some HR delays and you get December for UK leaving dates.

Today in allhands at Bangalore site about 3 hours back, Jeroen very clearly said that layoffs are over and the rumor of another one in December is false.
