Thread regarding Sears layoffs

The end is in sight

There is no restructuring plan, despite such pronouncements by SHLD. Liquidation of assets and closing of stores is the only course being taken. No efforts to shore up or improve sales are contemplated. Ask yourself, "Why should a consumer shop at SHLD for: Brands that have been sold off and empty shelves?" Is SHLD still telling employees who are losing their job that they can apply to another SHLD location? If so, that is the cruelest joke.

Wow wish I was Eddie. Thanks for the compliment. I am by no means a millionaire or billionaire....whatever he is.

@nab - Great post Eddie, however, things aren't working out as well for the rest of the associates at Sears!

The debt load is huge, several billion dollars. Don't see how the company can ever claw its way out of debt, not with same store sales dropping year over year.

@jqx No need for the negativity. I am not treated badly at all at work. If it comes to the point where I no longer have a job, then I can truthfully say I was treated fairly and have enjoyed my job. I don't have any animosity towards "Sears" as "Sears" is really the associates who work here, and I like most of them. It is life. You move on when your job is over. You don't have "hatred" toward your old employer.

The business of Sears is to liquidate inventory and dismiss employees, followed by an increase to the bottom line of the CEO. Open your eyes. It's not rocket science.

Could be.....but maybe not too....why so doom and gloom. The end could be in sight any day any associate goes to work for any company. Unless you work for yourself, you are at the mercy of others and the only control you have over your job is to leave and find another job where they may decide they need you or not. This is unfortunately corporate life. You just have to do the best you can and try to make the best of every day.

There is no hope for SHLD. After decades of mismanagement and mistreatment of customers it is over.

Throw in the towel , mass layoffs are coming to the titanic

How are they trying to bring in new business? By saying bye bye to Whirlpool? Sears can’t even bring in American made inventory.

Corporate trolls are ridiculous. Must be a new hire at that.

@PWrc you are living in lala land.

@uwz - Your post is a cruel joke and very dishonest.

Nothing is being done to bring in new business and you know it, unless you work here and are trying to raise morale as u go long on the stock.

Goodbye troll
