RSUs are nice but don’t get s---ered in by the allure of them. It’s ‘jack*ss bait’ for most below Grade 12. They eat from a different ‘trough’.
The stock price is flat, and is going nowhere in the future. So, while you’re waiting for these small rewards to mature and be available for you to cash out, you’ve missed out on 10X more money outside.
Do the ROI. Free money and nice to have? Sure. Reason to stay? Hell no.
Don’t be a jack*ss.
G10, 500 a year, almost every year, in EMEAR.
@PqdrQNp-6gvy: maybe in SJC. Less elsewhere. These are high for other sites who don't have job hopping retention issues.
From many observations and the occasionally over-shared director guidance:
6 - 500, almost never, hi-po retention risks only.
8 - 500, infrequently, e.g. 2 - 3 years, for top 1/3.
10 - 500 - 700, approx 1.5 - 2 years
11 - 1000 - 1500, approx 1.5 - 2 years
12 - 1500 - 2000, approx annually. Bonus and RSUs are expected to make up for a lower salary than you might expect.
Please note that they are still handed out, 1000 or even 1500, to people who are OR targets to keep them productive, as it obviously doesn't hurt Cisco to do that, just the others in the team that could have benefited from a few more shares.
What are RSU's?
5 yrs at Cisco & never got an RSU.
PG 8 (2 yrs) & PG9 (3 yrs) in Engineering.
P.S. I know the acronym stands for Restricted Stock Units, but beyond that, I have no experience with RSU's.
Zero for most. B
My group has lots of older tech leads grade 11 and 12. Our BU has year over year declining revenue. No one in our group received RSU for past several years. Not sure if my director got any to pass out but I assumed he did and gave them to his close related yes men.
Our team will not have access to RSUs this fy. Last year we had traunches of 500 to go he out.
Lower Grades, below 11 and rapidly becoming below 12 or higher May get RSUs. That is a big Maybe..
It all depends on Acquisitions... How may and how big, because they get RSUs to lock them in for a while.
You have to be special to get anything above 1000. The poster that mentioned 4-5k is dreaming.
Normal/high performer: 800-1000 a few times.
In my 8 years in Engineering I reveived one allocation of RSU's of 1000 shares. This, despite being in 'exceptional' and the top part of 'strong' performers every year. That was back when we had more transparent reviews of course. Not this opaque cloak-and-dagger system we have now. Like somebody else said earlier, dont believe most of what you read here.
In the seven years that I was there, I received four RSU allocations. Three were of 1000 shares each and the last was 800. I was G11 and left last fiscal year.
Are Bangalore RSUs in dollars or rupees. I am tired of these rupees i cant afford to buy an iPhone.
To the OP. I would believe any of the cr@p written here. Just go ask your manager or your manager's manager or HR. Don't believe any of this stuff.
Grade 11 and 12 --> usually 4000-5000 shares if the mgmt decided to give that year so nothing guarantee and it's NOT every year!

Typical? Zero. But you might be lucky and get a few hundred.
I am G8 in Bangalore. I don't have any RSUs. What should I do?
Staying in Bangalore.
This year there is actually a change in guidelines (along with changes in vesting scheme), to reward more at lower grades to allocate about 50-70% of the pool to grades 8 and 6, and half of the rest to grade 10.
RSUs not provided to those below grade 13. Generally for sales only. Engineering or other non field functions need not worry.
