Do we know who was affected by this weeks layoffs? Which locations, which departments? I see people mentioning large groups of people that were let go, but very few details are given. My wife works in IT, so I'd like to know if we should be stressing about the coming days as much as we do right now or not.

I was warned that something big was happening on Thursday but I was not impacted. I will not feel secure until 1pm tomorrow (there are always surprises). However from what I can tell this is a continuation of hub consolidation. If you are a mywork associate who lives in a non hub city (regardless if it was a hub city at one point for your line of business) and if there are any associates in your headquarters location that have the same role, you are at risk of being on tomorrow's list.
I find it ironic that they could be laying folks off within a week of a CTO all hands where they talked about employee survey results and the elimination of mywork was one of the biggest pain points reported. I wonder how many of us yelled "BS" when they said they were not actively looking at the vpn report?

I have already seen what they are capable of. The jobs will come right back and hopefully some of the managers who made the decision to offshore will go with them.

Your wife will be fine. There is a push to hire females in tech due to recent lawsuits in various companies including: google, uber & bank of america.
