Thread regarding Sears layoffs

WAY TO GO KMART!

http://www.kptv.com/story/36834642/beaverton-police-arrest-kmart-manager-accused-of-luring-underage-employee

I’m up here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Earlier this year they laid off our DM and replaced him with a real b**ch. she ran all the store managers out and replaced them with POS like this guy. I’m sure it was with our Regional Managers urging cause he’s a piece as well. I’m sure they saved some money as well. Way to go. I’ll get my popcorn.

The DM is tough. I know because I work in the area. Tough does not mean bad. Just because someone has high expectations doesn't make them a bad manager. She is one of the most dedicated DMs I have come across in years with this company. Sorry the lazy employees are sad the "free ride" is over and you have to work for a change!

@1ypx I agree with you. But I think the point is that if the Regional Manager hadn’t sent a new DM in to get rid of all the seasoned Store Managers to save a few bucks this wouldn’t have happened at a Kmart store. This man is a predator and it would have still happened but not at one of our stores. BTW I don’t work at this store but I do work at another in the area and we are horrified. Rumor has it there are more victims. Looks like a huge lawsuit to me.

"You get what you pay for.

Same goes for employees."

Not really applicable in this case, FWIW... this kind of behavior unfortunately happens at all income levels, including football coaches paid millions of dollars a year.

I believe this was OP's original point.

I think the first comment was simply saying that this is an isolated incident and that it really isn’t indicative of anything about the company. Not that the incident itself was no big deal. Sheesh.

Feel bad for the victims because you know there is more than one. My SM does what he wants with his company credit card. He doesn't get approval for over $50. Maybe over a $ 1000, he'd care but he treats himself pretty well.

@ggs - "It is what it is. You really need to get over it and move on." So, is that the advice you would give to your underage daughter if she were in this situation?

“used his company credit card to rent a hotel room to meet with her.”

How does that happen? I thought we had to get approval from our DM to charge anything over $50 on those p cards?

No need for this kind of post. It is what it is. You really need to get over it and move on.
