Of course the past was better because we could live large and still compete. Now we can't. So you expect us all to s--- it up so you can still live large. I don't think so.
First of all , Ivan froze management pensions in 2006. He was an A $$ hat ! Verizon is nothing more than a PC correct global entity. They sell out Americans for Indians and promote women and men who are clueless but kiss a mean A $$ ! They have created an absolutely corrosive work place destroying comradery in the ranks.
They got rid of the old guard in 2002 that still had dignity left. Many people I worked with and respected are long gone. I left this year and didn't shed a tear. People voice their displeasure on this board because they remember better times. Good luck to those being riffed. I never gave them the satisfaction of calling my number because I worked my butt off.

Our culture is Crisis, it's implicitly stated in the Credo. We run from one crisis to the next, reading out, scheduling meetings, sending updates and that continues year in and year out. React, rinse, repeat.
My manager is great, but I agree, this company has went to hell in the past several years. It used to be a great company to work for, now they bend you over every chance they get.
How about I don't pause and just look at whats been hired from other companies after they've F'd them up. There is absolutely no one I look up to or want guiding my future at that place.
