Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Question for Coaches

Please help me understand the rationale behind the fear based, don't talk about the elephant in the living room style of management. Is this typical for corporate America? I come from the non profit world and am perplexed at how heavy handed this organization is. I work under SNP and was not part of RIF.

Maybe that's because you are negative. Look at how you phrased your comment....

You are so right! I worked for Humana when it was Humana Cares and you felt like they did care and Humana was a pretty good place to work. You got raises when you exceeded your requirements and it was centered on the member and not on the number.

In regards to the reply that there is something about HAH, you are so right. It is called the goons they hired to run the place when they bought out Senior Bridges and placed the New York Mafia in charge of Humana Care and it became HAH.

Try to talk to your coach on a line that is not recorded. I’ve been able to do that twice & each time got totally different personalities out of them than on a day to day basis. It’s unfortunate that they want robots. Definitely fear based culture.

1zqg - thank you, Yoda. Not ready for the ways of the force, are we? We have so much to learn, Jedi Master.

Actually that’s not how all of humana is at all. It’s something about HAH in particular

I would suggest that in part open discussion is kept to a minimum for one reason. Conversations in chat rooms and on phones are recorded. We are told there is no expectation of privacy, there is no culture of 'water cooler' conversation which happens in traditional work settings. I don't care what company you work for, start documenting all conversations and no matter 'why' the conversations are recorded, the outcome will be the same.

Spend some time reading "Latest Posts" where you will see this is going on all over the nation, circa around late 2016 and since then.

Assuming it is done for better results is a mistake. The reason it is being done requires a whole lot of understanding of what is happening in the world right now. Info you do not possess, therefore you would not understand the explanation.

This is the first employer I have worked for where open discussion is regularly squaushed, and those asking questions are deemed “negative,” and I came from another large health insurer.
