Hello, Considering taking job with Humana in innovation area and wondering about culture..can anyone share? I understand there has been a lot of reorganization so curious.

@2gtb. You could not get hired without minimum 3 years RN clinical experience and most had that plus your age combined. You clearly were not an HCM-RN. Childcare? Laundry? Please child, don't make me laugh. It was a stressful job and all you've done is highlight how clueless you are to the role. Go troll another layoff board. Bye Felicia🖑
HAH was ruined by previous management, and the current management, including the CEO, got stuck cleaning up the mess and taking the hit for people who have retired. It was so poorly run and change was needed. It is unfortunate that many of you are now so negatively impacted but the people to blame are gone. Including people way before B.B. who mismanaged it into ground. Blame the leaders who were here a year ago. Almost all are gone except KD who has moved into a new role.
2gpt: It is amazing to me that you know about the WAH nurses who were doing their laundry, etc. Did you have hidden cameras in their homes? Most of us did do bedside nursing and averaged 10 hours a day due to unrealistic metrics. It took them how many years to lower metrics and focus on quality, not quantity? It has been a tough ride for all of us. We are burned out because we did work hard for Humana!
@RsBrwjt-2tuc Or you could argue that the organization was full of entitled crybabies who didn't know how to do a full days work in between laundry and child care. You can't just make general statements and expect to get away with it. I know many RN's who were not interested in doing a good job, just interested in not having to do bedside care. Like when did most of them see a bedside.
Everyone is talking about Humana at Home which is not affiliated with innovations. I think Humana is a good company to work for overall. Unfortunately, HAH had a high turnover rate within management and was poorly managed. You cannot use anything on this site in determining the job in innovations.
I have been in HAH for a few years and have not had a bad experience. There have been many changes but I had learned to embrace the changes early on. I like my job. I like the members on my roster. I like my coach. I have no ill feelings even if I am laid off. Not everyone is miserable, not everyone hates Humana and not everyone wants out.
The thing about Humana is that one department can be drastically different from another in how you feel about the company. It seems that most on this site and from HAH and I cant say anything about that area because I havent been in it, but I have been in 3 areas of Humana and 2 of them were great. Loved them but I chose to different areas for different opportunities and the area I'm currently in is not great. I cant let that skew my overall view of Humana however, because it truly comes down to the people who run that area so I'm keeping an eye out for other openings. I know some people in Innovation and I will say I've not heard anything negative about it over there, so I say go for it if you're interested. Good Luck to you!
I keep reading that places inHumana are happy. Then how come B.B. let HAH become such a stressed out, failing mess?
I was treated like CRAP and I won't forget It- I am glad for anyone who had a positive experience, but Humana left a bitter taste in my mouth that will not be forgotten

Nurses in other areas of Humana like the company and have high engagement. You have a skewed vision due to how things are at HAH. That’s not how things are everywhere. It really isn’t. Don’t paint the whole company with the same paintbrush. Notice it’s only Hah posting on this site and believe me, everyone know about this site.

When I joined Humana 8 years ago I thought I had died and gone to nursing heaven. For the first time since I entered the nursing field I felt valued and respected. I used to joke to my peers to pinch me, was this for real. The work culture was collaborative and supportive. I remember the glory days of appreciation bonuses, free turkeys for Thanksgiving, all the many little gestures Humana management used to do to make us feel welcome and special - great training, excellent benefits, competitive salaries. I responded by giving 200%. Well sadly if it seemed too good to be true it turned out that it was. Within 3 years of my signing on, the program was both growing rapidly and changing for the worse. Gone was the sense of collaboration, micro managing became the norm, stress levels grew exponentially. Members became unhappy, declinations increased. Both employees and members watched helplessly as their perks associated with Humana evaporated into thin air. It has been a steady downhill slide ever since. I lost my sense of pride in working for Humana and stopped recommending it to friends as an insurer and to my peers as an employer. I have hung in there hoping Humana would find its way back to that initial formula that had been so successful. But no, it only seems more mired down than ever in ideas that are not working, at the cost of both employee morale and member support. I have run companies before but never seen such a quick fall from grace. You take the heart out of nursing and all you have is an empty shell. Humana needs to find its mojo again, management with empathy, respect and a willingness to think outside the corporate box. Take risks, become creative and innovative again. Somewhere Humana took the wrong fork in the road and became lost
Most of the posts on this site are from employees of Humana at Home, the care management program, which has been heavily decimated in the past 12 months with layoffs. You won't get a fair and balanced opinion on this site.
Could be. Humana at home program has gone through layoffs and restructuring this year, but they’re developing home health, if the job was with that, it may be a safe bet
I went on Glassdoor and found the Innovations position. Honestly, this is nothing like what most folks are complaining about on this website. Is it a Louisville position?

Honestly I wouldn’t take a job with them. The culture of the company is unhealthy.
Real or not-- run HIDE...STAY AWAY... this place/biz is the opposite of what it perks itself up to be on media. Do not apply here unless you want to be manipulated, lied to, micromanaged, stifled, disrespected, told to go the gym and workout, while having to sit at a desk for 10 hrs straight...

Humana has had huge changes. Everyone has had different experiences. I opted for early retirement. My own experience was wonderful. I had great front line leaders and managers. Benefits were better than I have ever had and my salary was great. I was not micro-managed and I felt my input was valued. If I ever wanted to go back to work, I would consider Humana again. That being said, this is my own personal experience and not meant to diminish anyone else experience.
