Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Hatred and drama

Never before have I seen so much hatred, negativity and drama coming from a group of professionals. This hatred does not serve you well and just brings you down emotionally and takes a physical toll. We are all stressed. We are all anxious. We are all scared of what's to come. But come on, this hatred and bashing of leaders or different roles is getting us NO WHERE!!! Let's support one another, let's give our new leaders a chance and let's look to what positives may lie ahead for us in new companies, new roles and new experiences.

HCMRN and I have had about 4-5 coaches so far. One, years ago, did not seem like a very good manager, a bit dictatorial and honestly, narcissistic . The other coaches I have had were all wonderful, fair, not at all micromanagers, and respectful of the team members. My current coach is the best one I have ever had. The one before did show some signs of favoritism towards the end, but she too , tried very hard to be supportive. So my long winded point is, in response to the coach Post ID: @RxJcZmx-lzn, I suspect some of the criticism of coaches and managers is based on us not knowing/ trusting the rationale for who is getting picked to stay vs go. There are lots of rumors flying including the rumors that coaches have picked their favorites to be on certain new teams such as remote monitoring, are the ones who are going to stay. I am just trying to tell myself whatever happens I will make it work out. And I hope this for everyone else too. I have met so many great people here. People who really care, from CS reps to CHEs, HCMSS, HCMRNs, HP reps... lots of compassionate people at this company.

I am worried and stressed. I have been trying to maintain a positive attitude these last couple of weeks. I had a melt down after talking to a member. The hardest part is if I lose my position, What is going to happen to those mbrs that I work so hard to take care. I help them stay out of the hospital and financially . These poor members keep going through change of HCM's and PHC's and have a difficult time keeping up with the change and get lost in the shuffle and had to start over trying to get help. I mostly feel sorry for them!. I can find a new job. Probably not as much as I like as Humana. I thought I was happy about the heads up on losing our jobs but they should have announced it and notified after they told us. That just caused us all so much stress. I have a great coach and very supportive through this. Good luck Will be thinking of all of you this week.

I have had multiple coaches with Humana. People venting about having bad coaches that play favorites is fair, and I'm sorry of you're feelings are hurt by it. But I have personally seen coaches that do play the favorites game. I've also seen coaches that didn't. Those of us with coaches that do play the favorites game have a right to be worried about how that affects out job. This is our financial future on the line after all.

I have had many managers with Humana over the years and appreciate the position they are in. They are just trying to keep their heads above water like the rest of us!

Just know that many of us appreciate our coaches. Of course, I’m sure there are good and bad ones just like any role, but I have nothing but empathy for what everyone is dealing with right now.

There are some squeaky wheels on here who have used the site for venting wrongs - some may be real, some may be exaggerated, but many of us see you all as human, just trying to do your best in spite of a rough 12+ months.

@RxJcZmx-bnl I am a manager. I will tell you Humana upper management have no interest in what you put on here, Directors and COMS don't really care that much. Coaches feel attacked. I have never felt so attacked as I do here. All of these comments about favorites and not caring, it hurts.

For those who have written mean and nasty comments about coaches, don't think that those comments will change the outcome, don't think it will change how I will manage either here or someplace else. This last 3 years have been about accountability. Well I am accountable and I am waiting for news just like you are. I thank the OP for their common sense,

Remember management watches this site and may be the ones stirring the pot. Humana hates this site. Hard to keep evil going in the light

Great post, I agree. Tensions are running high but why pick on each other. It is discouraging to see how some folks react to this stress.

I agree completely. So much bashing of one another when we should be supporting one another.

Agreed. Easy to lose all empathy and kindness on an anonymous site, it appears.
