You're right @8sup. A lot of people here just like to spread fear.
OP doesn’t understand what it takes to run a company the size of QCOM or design complex semiconductors at scale. From 34k to 2k? Complete utter nonsense.
“Heard that PTE and PMIC will be gone from SCL and offshored by the end of CY 2018.”
Agreed. I also heard that the PHR will not transfer to SYE until the FQP from YGF gets the OK from ZVB.
Post-NXP layoff is no secret, management already openly mentioned $0.5B in "identified synergies" (love that term, so fancy!). I expect that one to target specific functional groups that are redundant after the merge. I don't really expect an environment where people could volunteer in other groups as easily as this time..
I have also heard that there will be 3 rounds of layoffs starting at or after NXP close. Did not hear any specific dates.
Anyone thinking this is the last layoffs in Qualcomm is smoking something
Qualcomm would keep laying off people and keep offshoring to reduce cost
Roll up that certificate up your *ss.
It's pretty obvious that OP is BSing. But seriously - what are the thoughts on possible other rounds this year? Will this layoff meet the $1B cost savings target? Now that we lost ZTE, would the mgmt try to offset the lost revenue with another cost cutting? With all the negativity going on, one cannot help but think maybe it is better to be impacted...
Absolutely not confirmed. OP is not knowledgeable.
Very credible. Heard that PTE and PMIC will be gone from SCL and offshored by the end of CY 2018.
Cool certification, bro.
What they need is royalty business.
They want small company before sell it to our founder.
5G roll over means more lay offs. Good enough.
2000 confirmed if not bankrupt
Not sure about 2000, definitely 50% smaller to current number.
