Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Commission changes?

Rumored commission changes are going to roll out in June for retail sales. Any idea which trial they ended up picking or any hints as to what the new commission structure entails?

I rather have my Union rep by my side because Verizon managers are slimy backstabbing a holes and its my word vs their word and they only care about their own interests. So yeah call me a baby if you want but i been Union and non-Union and i was screwed over enough by management within the store to know they aren’t to be trusted

Ha, union workers comparing retail employees to kids. That's funny.

I can talk to my manager and deal with my own pay without having to have mama and papa union rep with me. Because I'm an adult and don't need some overpaid c--t to hold my hand.

@4gmm, I’ve seen the union people on here mocked quite a bit by retail, but it seems the biggest pitiful crybaby woe is me whiners on this board are consistently, almost without exception, those who dwell within stores.

Man up already.

Wipe your tears.

Put your big boy pants on.

Stand up to Mom. NO WAY AM I EATING BROCCOLI TONIGHT. I DON’t EVEN CARE IF YOU CUT THE HEAT IN THE BASEMENT. THE BOILER’S THERE MA, SO LMAO!!!

Keep pushing me and I’ll move in with Dad. Yeah, I said it!

In my store the bottom 3 performers are gone. They were either coached out or "convinced to leave" and thr sh--bag managers are proud of this. They're not coaching people to inprove and grow the employees, they're setting asinine expectations like "Show a jetpack to everyone who walks through the door, Verizon customer or not, bill pay? Jetpack. Escalation? Fixed with a jetpack." And then writing them up for not telling the guy that's spewing vitrol at them about their international bill that hr should buy a jetpack.

At the same time our tip performers are gone, all the really good sales people are gone, they've lost 20%+ of their pay and got pissed and left. Some of then we're good sales people, some just stuffed bags and ran.

The good reps that knew how to fix things left, their customer service and tech support ability was either totally unappreciated or they were getting every problem dumped on them so that the golden children could take more customers and then getting written up for not selling enough, despite the manangers asking, or telling, them to help.

Who's left? A couple people like me that have been here forever and otherwise it's half trained people barely know what they're doing. Good. Little. Drones.

Most of the low performers are gone.

It is almost halfway through the year. How will the low performers be “gone?” Won’t they benefit from no commission? Is there gonna be a layoff?

Most of the industry has gone or is going non-commission. Multiple DMs and RVPs telling reps that the non-commissioned trials are the best performing trial stores.

Verizon will no longer be commission by half way through the year.

The low performers will be gone, the 'slammers' will quit after a month or two of crying that they can't rip people off for their benefit, the bad, number obsessed managers will quit and what will be left will be the decent middle reps that actually want to help people and managers that are interested in rep development and customer support. Most everyone that stays will take a pay cut, some will barely notice others will be bigger but in exchange they'll have better work life balance, less stress, and less harassment from above and stupid, unattainable goals.

Are people surprised? They are never trying to make it easier for you to make money. They need to cut billions by 2020. They are cutting commission and they will replace you with reps who are willing to do the job for $9/hr and that's if they don't shut down the store first or turn it into an indirect. My guess is they will just have vending machines dispensing some cards.

Verizon owned retail stores are on the endangered list.

It's coming. My manager was told at her meeting some store will get it first before they roll it out to every store.

Highly doubt it fully changes in June. That would not be enough time for the top sales people in the company to adjust to a severe drop in commission. This is one advantage of a union( and believe you me I am not for unions) but in a situation like this a negotiation would take place. Trust me whatever trial they choose you will no longer see solutions specialists making 80k to over 100k anymore. It makes no sense because the bottom 20% will make out like bandits those lazy fukkers. Just ask the reps in the stores with trials. The bottom reps are now happy and top reps are miserable. Just don’t look for the change in June look for it next January. This will be the last year for the Presidents Cabinent and Winners Circle as they are formulating a new award based on new commission structure which also starts January 2019.

Change the archaic structure, change it or close the stores!
