Farewell QTD 4.30.2018 Employees

Downing a 40 ouncer for some old friends and collegues. Monday is the QTD for many managers and section managers (and probably others too, but hard to know now days). Wish you all the best. You will be free of this place.

@SU9qJfv-1Brph - QTD = Qualified Termination Date. When you go through a re-org (they can and will be called different things just because) the triggering date is given, in this case 4/30/18. That is the official date of the re-org. To get any severance offered you have to work up to the QTD and then are booted out the door with the promise of a check.

The fun thing about this round of lay-offs is that there have been a number of different QTDs, depending on which department you work in. Proximity just went 7/31/18. Some are going multiple waves. My own theory on this is that it is another way for the company to obscure what is going on by having things happen all at different times. Most people focus on their own department and don't focus on the big picture. We are down thousands of people - yes thousands just this year. Proximity alone went down about 3000. Some jobs have been moved via office closure, Parsippany is closing later this year, one of the WA offices is closing too. Some jobs have been stripped from a department, while lesser jobs are being added in Bloomington or the Hubs. You would think that it would warrant a news story that SF is cutting people at a time of near full employment, but not a peep out of the media.

Claim Managers and Section Managers have a 4/30 QTD. Lots of good people leaving but I know of 1 SM that got what she deserved, I a sure there are some others that Karma took care of but unfortunately too many good ones caught up in it too.
