"When I worked at HP, every time they missed the numbers and the stock tanked, MH would tell employees in his town hall meetings to not worry about the stock price, that it would take care of itself."

And that is exactly what he said in his town hall meting right after the analysts call yesterday.

Three quarters in a row missing sales targets, with so-so cloud revenue growth. If they were really fudging the numbers, woouldn't they have made up better ones?

@SfNQLgm-htv I don't know which marketing is worse. Oracle's cloud or IBM Watson. With both, the marketing is so far in front of what the product is actually capable of.

People used to say, you don't get fired for buying Oracle or IBM. Not only do you get fired for buying it, but you also get fired for selling it (or not selling it).

Yes exactly, NONE of the newly acquired SaaS products work together or with fusion apps. Nothing is “engineered to work together” as the marketing brochures say. A bunch of crap sold on an oracle branded buffet. It all sounds good in theory but isn’t really integrated.

@SfNQLgm-vwh - one could argue that’s what they’re doing. The data centers aren’t connected. There are only certain products that even will work in a particular cloud environment .. if you (a client) want to connect that product to another product t running in a diff cloud data center you can’t do it . The whole thing is a bunch of soloed cloud data centers with a hodgepodge ofaquisitioned SaaS products spread out across the globe in their various aquirex configurations. A rats nest of cloud data centers and products is more accurate. Much of this thanks to Catzwho would rather acquire new revenue than invest in oracle products. She thinks it’s cheaper to buy market share and, more importantly, new revenue to fill the cup of losses by client abandonment.

Where does this information come from?

Cloud washing at oracle is all about keeping up the share prices since LE’s wealth is all tied up in oracle shares. Without these make belief cloud revenues Oracle share price would be in the dumps as it would quite correctly be seen as a company without a future and the share would tank. This is a classic securities fraud.

I don't see why Oracle needs any cloud at all. They could just make the whole thing up. Just make up an accounting category for "cloud" and put numbers in it. What the hell!

They could save a lot of money that way. Nobody to pay to build the fake cloud at all.
