If you want to take legal action against CHK

Hammonslaw.com

Think before you sign. This firm has a good track record against Chesapeake and knows their history.

Give them a call. I did!

SiNUFlA-1uav,

As a current, non millennial employee, I find your comments indicative of some of our problems. You want loyalty? That’s reasonable but you will find that loyalty goes out the window when it’s not reciprocated. Then add in the ridiculous decisions we are subjected to because some VP or EVP has a relationship through family, church or prior work with another employee. Objectivity and responsibility go out the window on a regular basis because of this stupidity.

People see this stuff and have to deal with it which is why the culture initiative is dead. CHK will become a case book study in how to f--- it up. As an employee, I want nothing but the best for our company, I’m not sure our leadership really understands what that is. That’s why people are leaving and why some will be suing.

Oooooo! “Currently 3.23”, sweet! Now, if the stock price rises only another 950% it’ll be right back where it was 4 years ago! Like that’s gonna happen, NOT! You’re pretty desperate if you’re measuring results by a few pennies, but then again this is CHK! But hey, before you go looking for bragging rights you might wanna check what the other oils have been doing (kicking CHK’s a$$). Ain’t nothing to brag about here. Show some humility.

For those thinking about suing, make sure you get a good lawyer. If they think the case has merit and are willing to do it for a percentage then go for it.

No doubt chk has a lot to worry about. Incompetence and still a lot of head count to drop. I know I have a case against them just need to take the time to talk to attorney.

A pretty open-close case. When you were employed, stock was 2.80. After a little early spring cleanup in human capital department, we are comfortable moving up, currently 3.23.

Management is taking every precaution with reducing our workforce. The millennial claim was just a hunch—whining and no substance. Plenty of vilchers and zero loyalty after everything company did for you all. That law firm has a pretty good reputation—much better than the people let go (employment withdrawn). Millennial here give company all the blame and take none of the responsibility. Can’t even offer a congratulations on stock needle going North. The company is looking to venomously fight any sham lawsuit. Good luck.

If the legal department is anything like it was prior to my exit, anyone who threatens to sue will win.

The legal department metrics are based on the number of lawsuits and if they can settle a frivolous suit with a little cash, they will do it. So you can probably just plan on asking for double/triple whatever they gave you to leave, give 30/40% to the attorney and walk away.

There is no fight left in that place and they are dying the slow death of Kerr-McGee, Samson, Sandridge and many others.

The fight to stay alive will continue as they sell the best assets and retain the ones that others do not want. I hate it for the company because they were such a staple to OKC and the community but other than a name on the arena, they are virtually non-existent.

Gone are the days where employees would wear the swag proudly. Now the clothes with the old logo are tucked away in the drawer or on the sales counter at second-hand stores.

Those that are left should enjoy what is left but expect it to be a slow painful end up to 2020.

in every case in my old department the worker that was let go was the oldest in the job classification. Agism is illegal.

How do you know it was a millennial that posted? You do realize that many folks over 40 got cut? Trust me, CHK gets sued ALOT, and pays out a ton. Yeah don’t hear about that do you? It also sounds like the OP hired a good firm. Hammons has a good reputation here in OKC. I know someone that used them on a wage and hour suit and they were very pleased with the results.

Man, the OP must have hired a good firm. Sure got Mr. Chk fired up lmao. If there was nothing to worry about it would only be laughable and wouldn’t cause emotion like that.

I’m not endorsing the OP’s post. Personally the smaller CHK gets in my rear view mirror the happier I am and the better I feel.

But I do find the posters comments who starts out cussing amusing. Because if there was nothing to worry about it wouldn’t stir such emotion. Way to shine @sshat

You “sue happy” motherf@$?;r! I hope you have a “win or you don’t pay” agreement, because your budget will evaporate really quick. You millennial need to lose this entitlement mindset—especially when you’re deadweight and provide very little to the bottom line. Sorry that company is moving in different direction and your employment opportunity has been withdrawn. Try the outfit up the road, I hear they are hiring. By the way, crying lawyer is the ‘80’s version of a child kicking legs and arms and holding breath—but in the end will be a talking point at the morning meeting. We get a real high when we see these frivolous and baseless suits. Good luck.
