Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Hi Intel shills, how are your 2% merit raises coming?

Did you even get a $100 tax break bonus from the Big Klown?

Got 0% increase at GR8 SSL3. I don’t know if it was better than last years ~2% GR8 SSL4. It just means there is no focal budget and they are just shuffling numbers. This first time ever getting rate increase below inflation. It just goes to show income rift widening & low cost geo getting fat raises. Gone are the Intel of yore..Otellini’s proud Intel. No choice but to accept employees here are no longer valued.

Wake up - you're working for General Electric. 2% raise, house prices increase 10%. You'll never catch up unless you leave Intel. Those years of experience hardly improve your resume other than to say that you make bad career choices. Unless you have H1B handcuffs on, get out before you're kicked out.

I escaped. Now all I care is that BK whips the minions, cuts expenses, fools Wall St, and gets the stock price to go up.

@7nfa. "I can't look for a new job with this rating". Why ? In my opinion you should look for another one asap before you're booted out.

@7nfa

What was your SSL in your first year? I wouldn't be too concerned simply based on the fact that you're new, and in the past they looked back 3 years (whereas if you were at Intel less than 3 years then you were fine). Focus on improving your performance in the remainder of 2018. Talk to your manager about how you can step up. Pay attention to what the more senior employees are doing right. Find a good mentor that can help guide you.

I have been at Intel for 2 years. My review this year was an S with a SSL5. That makes me quite nervous based on all the info I have ben reading. It seems like I have a "Scarlet letter" on my record now. I can't look for a new job with this rating, and I am not happy with my current situation. I wonder what my options are at Intel (other than the obvious; to move on)...

F32/22 42? Trying to hire 1,000 people by end of year. With great employment opportunities in East Phoenix area, why the low ball raises? If this is going on now, look out after we overproduce (I give it 8 months), and have to cut costs again. Wonder where the cost savings will come from...

Yep, got 2% raise and glad I got S3 stocks. Hopefully enough to avoid ISP this year.

Moved to Nvidia last year and got a 20% raise from my previous Intel T-comp, one grade higher too. Work env is in a completely different league, much smarter colleagues, way better managers and a kick-azz CEO. I'm so happy to have left the Intel $hithole.
