Anyone taken the anti-harassment course? I felt like it was preparing us in DFW for "tolerating other cultures" when they further offshore US positions. It was sickening. Don't point out if someone cannot communicate in English! Don't point out some act like robots or are subservient to their bosses.

It doesn't matter if you are the best Next Gen Platform tool de jour expert in the world. If you are located in DFW then Sabre will save some bucks and replace you with two or three people in KRK or three or four people in BLR as soon as Sabre can.
The reality is that you must prepare for change but the change is Sabre cheap shoring absolutely every job it can including yours. All that matters is short term costs quarter to quarter. If Sabre had a 10 year plan it could be different. Sabre has a 3 month plan if that. Sabre isn't a benevolent charity with any obligation to any employee. Sabre's only obligation is to its owners. It's owners are only interested in a quick return on their investment.
The only way to prepare for that change is to constantly train yourself in transferable skills that other US companies need and plan on being laid off sooner or later. Don't be surprised by the layoff. It is coming. Prepare for that change.
For someone young. Don't get comfortable in any job. Always ensure you have prepared yourself to land your next gig quickly. In the globalization world of cheap shoring for those on the expensive shore the only constant in your career is you. Jobs will come and go.
Or you could just become a plumber.
Just each your kid how to be a global citizen. Have your kid live abroad and travel lots. Every major company is or will globalize. S/he will be ahead f the curve then by not being allergic to change.
I guess the future will tell for my child. However one thing is for sure, it won't involve Sabre no matter how you justify it.

To 3vnx. Did I ever state engineering? No, I did not. I said STEM. There are other careers other than engineering. You assumed incorrectly.

You are wrong. India and Poland are too deeply invested in and they have infiltrated HDQ up to the executive level. Sabre will be in India and Poland for at least the next couple of decades no matter if we find we can hire cheaper in North Korea tomorrow. Sabre is not just hiring junior developers in India and Poland. Sabre is hiring up to executive level in India and Poland. The decision makers are in India and Poland. The jobs in the USA will continue to evaporate like a puddle in the Texas summer. You know what happens as a puddle evaporates? The remaining water gets more and more salty as the salt concentrates. That's exactly what you're seeing happen at Sabre now. If Sabre wants a globally cohesive team then Sabre needs to dedicate effort to that. The Americans dislike the immigrants and they both dislike the Poles and Indians, the Poles dislike the Americans and Indians, and the Indians dislike the Poles and Americans. Why wouldn't they? They are all competing not collaborating. They are each a threat to the others. What would you expect?
Never thought for one second Sabre cared about their employees. True alot of business is done this way. There are good companies out there though hence the advice I gave to my child is worth it. Time will tell if the path they chose is the right one. Not you or anyone else will ever convince me otherwise.
sabre will always want the cheapest most productive workforce possible. When India and Poland get to expensive, we’ll packup and move to the next lowest cost center.

My child was a straight A student in all of their days in school. Math wizard,great at science and yes even programming.The advice I told them? Whatever your goals are do not go into programming. They took my advice and is currently enrolled in a top notch college in STEM and not in programming. I do not want my child to work like I did and worry all the time of offshore. Yes we do have talent in the US and they will not be working for Sabre!

The fact is that Sabre started as the American Airlines res system. That's American Airlines not USA Airlines. Sabre was an American company with the vast vast majority of employees located in the USA. Some of those employees still work for Sabre now. Sabre is rapidly changing from an American company into a mostly not American company where most employees are not located in the USA and where most speak English as their second, third, or fourth language not their first.
Resentment is building in Sabre like steam in a pressure cooker.
Employees in the US are only American born in the minority and they resent immigrants filling 75% of the US seats. Employees in the US, American born and immigrant, resent the offshore employees because their US based colleagues were laid off in order to ship those seats offshore.
It's not a Trump voter phenomenon. Republican and Democrat are united in promoting US jobs for US voting citizens.
Offshore employees resent US based employees too because they feel like it's not fair that they are paid 3x or 4x what they are paid. They feel like they work harder than US based employees and are more highly skilled than US based employees. They feel like US based employees are ignorant, pampered, dated, change averse, xenophobic and racist.
The reality is that the situation is terrible on both sides of the fence. There's no greener grass on either side. Sabre is poisoning both sides.
Sabre as a whole is a poisonous environment rife with two faced back stabbing. Its a sociopath paradise. Offshore staff have now infiltrated the senior management tier so offshore staff numbers will now start to increase in that area too not just in the technical positions. Soon Sabre will just be a few US based executives and half a dozen global offices fighting over funding.
If Sabre is going to survive the next decade this must stop. Cultural sensitivity training is not the solution though. Both sides have to have their concerns acknowledged and they need action taken to address those concerns. The problem is that there probably is no solution that makes all parties happy. Maybe the best option is to split Sabre into a separate company in each country.
I just want to point out one thing. I'm not anti-global, I respect people from all cultures and I believe they make Sabre a better company. Unfortunately, we in the US, have grown up calling our country American and it's people Americans. I totally understand this is technically incorrect but it's been ingrained in us since we were born. Just don't think that everyone who uses the words America or American is an idiot.
The only thing keeping the experienced US people in their jobs in the US is the current software. Once that's replaced with the new NGP all the development will be moved to India and Poland. The other offices will only be for sales.

Even the stakeholders are from all around the World. If you are narrow minded and chooses to see ONLY your perspective, I feel sorry for you and wish you luck in the real World. People from all around the Globe lives all around the Globe. America is more than just US as some of US people like to call your country. I recommend you to study a bit of history from other cultures and you will be amazed about what they have to offer.
Don’t be scared about other cultures ‘stealing’ your jobs... EVOLVE!! And the fear will disappear.
